I used Homecare Providers for a two week Holiday period In California. The two carers provided to me were absolutely wonderful.. they knew just what to do and were very capable.

As my dad’s heart failure stabilized, I was still anxious leaving him alone during work hours. Two days after his discharge, I booked Home Care Providers for a trial shift. Their nurse showed up to our condo right on time with a rolling bag of supplies and a warm handshake. She reviewed the hospital notes, prepared low-sodium soup, and guided Dad through slow hallway laps. Small hiccup: the portable ECG monitor needed fresh batteries, so the first reading was delayed a few minutes, but she explained everything and documented the baseline once it powered on. By the time I returned, Dad had napped comfortably and his vitals were neatly charted in the portal. Having a professional home health care service watching him erased a lot of late-night worry. We’ve already scheduled ongoing visits.

I was exhausted after weeks of juggling work, my kids, and my mom’s post-surgery rehab. A friend urged me to call Home Care Providers in Brea. From the first phone chat, their coordinator listened as I rambled through medication times and my mom’s fear of strangers. The next morning a caregiver arrived with a gentle smile, laid out gloves and a tablet checklist, and coaxed Mom through stretches while chatting about old movies. Hearing her laugh in the kitchen nearly made me cry. The caregiver updated me via text when vitals were logged, so I could focus at work. Knowing reliable home care services were in place lifted a weight off my chest. Dinner that night felt calm for the first time all summer. I’m grateful we found them.

If you want real reviews, please see the reviews on Yelp. Our experience with this home care agency was deeply disappointing and frustrating. Over the course of just 10 weeks, we had 9 or 10 different aides—a clear sign of inconsistency and poor planning. This constant turnover made it impossible to provide the stable, familiar care that is especially important for someone living with dementia. Many of the aides who were sent lacked the proper training or experience to care for a dementia patient. Some took little initiative and spent much of their time sitting on the couch rather than engaging with or assisting my mother. To be clear I didn't expect a lot to begin with and mostly needed supervision for mom, food administration, keeping her area clean, and medication reminders. It was clear that several were not equipped to handle even the basic emotional and practical demands of this type of care. Adding to our frustration, the agency later cited our home's location and the presence of four cats—both of which were disclosed at the very beginning—as reasons for staffing challenges. These factors were known from the start and should not have been used later as excuses for failing to provide consistent care. They also described the home environment and the fact that we speak to my mother in our native language as "overwhelming" for aides. We find this unacceptable. We have every right to speak to my mother in the language she understands—especially given her cognitive decline. At no point was any aide placed in a dangerous, difficult, or compromising situation. Yes, my mother's dementia can make her combative at times, and this naturally affects the home dynamic—any experienced dementia caregiver knows this. However, these episodes did not involve the aides directly and were used as false justifications for the agency’s inability or unwillingness to provide consistent, appropriate care. This agency repeatedly failed to take accountability and instead relied on shifting blame and citing factors that were either irrelevant or misrepresented. After numerous interactions and telling them how I desperately needed care when I would be out of town for two days (May 31 and June 1st) they call me the DAY BEFORE my trip and tell me they are no longer going to service my mom, thus leaving me to scramble for care. Absolutely inconsiderate. For families seeking dependable, trained, and compassionate home care—especially for loved ones with dementia—I would not recommend this provider. If you have to use insurance or CalOptima, there are better agencies who have better structured care plans out there. Do your research! I wish I had done mine.

I appreciate Home Care Pro having great caregivers caring for my mom. Priscilla has been taking care of her for many months and it's made an incredible difference in my mom's wellbeing. Whenever Priscilla isn't available, they send other caregivers who also provide high quality care, most recently Jennifer who my mom was very impressed by. Thanks Home Care Pro!
