My mom was staying there from 11/8 to 12/22 after a brain surgery. A few serious problems I have to point out: 1. They didn't follow patient's doctor's instructions. My mom went into ER on 12/11 and was diagnosed with hyponatremia, very low sodium level which was dangerous. She was sent back to Alta Gardens the next day with her doctor's recommendation of checking her sodium once a week. RN supervisor Paul promised to check my mom's sodium weekly but they didn't do it. No followups with me. 2. They didn't take patient's symptoms seriously. My mom has been very dizzy and weak for the past few days in Alta Gardens. She even vomited a few times. They only gave her the dizziness pills that didn't help at all. Other than that, they didn't do further examinations or call me, or consult their own doctors regarding the symptoms. My mom just returned from ER not long ago with hyponatremia, but they didn't check her sodium when those symptoms continued. After she returned home on 12/22, she spent the night feeling dizzy and weak, couldn't walk stably or straight, couldn't sit up from bed or stand up from sitting. The next morning I took her to her oncologist and labs showed her sodium was 110 and it dropped to 107 in the afternoon. She was transported to ER immediately and will go to ICU. This is a life threatening situation we're going through. It's unacceptable that Alta Gardens didn't take what happened seriously at first. 3. Unprofessional Discharge. When I was picking up my mom for discharge, she was still very dizzy and weak, but the nurse or the discharge supervisor didn't talk about my mom's symptoms at all. I am not a medical staff so I wouldn't know that was abnormal or dangerous. They didn't provide us with a wheelchair and a shower chair to take home at that time. They didn't teach me how to shower her before the discharge. Home help wasn't set up or scheduled.

I spent a few months at Alta Gardens recovering from a bike vs car accident. The facility was fine and the staff was wonderful. I received good care and made a nice recovery with their help.

It's a hit or miss here depending on who you get to speak or work with there. You can tell a few of the staff members care about their patients, but a majority of the time I worked with people who were rude and short-tempered. My mom was a patient there and was miserable. Staff was not attentive. They lost her belongings and medications. They don't return calls when asked. They're busy, obviously, but that is no excuse to be rude to patients and their families either. I have never worked with a facility with staff that seemed to care less about the well-being of their patients.

I really love the care and treatment I have received at Alta Gardens Care Center. All staff is very respectful, kind and has shown sincere empathy. They ensure to meet and take care of my needs while staying at Alta. Elvira (UM) and Joan (Charge Nurse) have given such an excellent care. Francis (Recreation Director) is very thoughtful also is very supportive with my needs. The Housekeepers, Rehab Team, The management, and all staff is very accommodating and has a great customer service. I can rate Alta's customer service from 9 out of 10. 9 will be the highest...

Alta Gardens Care Center has been very good to my family and especially to my father who was a resident. The facility specializes in Vietnamese program with many Vietnamese speaking staff. My father really appreciated the caring staff and he was able to communicate his needs to them in his language. Staff cares with genuine interest. After my father passed away, many of the staff came to the funeral service and gave their condolences. It meant a lot to our family. I was so glad to have my father spend the last of his days there. Thank you Alta Gardens!
