Amedisys was absolutely amazing. My Physical Therapists, Allen and Lester, were very helpful and supportive in my rehab process. They provided clear guidance and exercises that they modeled for me and I did on my own. Additinally, they were good communicators and follow through on their meeting dates & times. I am very grateful for their support. Hoss

I should honestly give this place a 0 or a 1 if I could, but I still want to respect the position that taking care of people isn't easy. With that said, my mother actually needed homecare several months ago for an open wound on her foot. Her doctor is the one who said these people would be good. Because of her relation with her doctors at Kaiser, she said okay. The point was to prevent her from having to travel multiple trips, further aggravating the would, where it could get infected and much worse. Unfortunately, the care was at best subpar. Based off the printout I have in front of me, she was scheduled for weekly visits for up to 9 weeks, then would be reevaluted. Due to convenience of a nearby home care nurse, Alan, he took over duties, and came once a week, where he can cover both my mother and the nearby patient. He even used my parking space while I was at work. Apparently these people do not communicate very well. There is no middle ground: They are either negligent, or overbearing. If my mother was in the restroom and didn't pick up immediately, they would call the point of contact, non stop, which was me. It isn't necessary. Leave a text or voicemail. Not everyone's life is married to their cells 24/7. On the 3rd visit from Alan, when my mother called to confirm if he was coming, the guy was pretty rude to her on the phone, telling her that he was busy, and that he could not come. So she didn't expect him to come, but the next day, documented she refused visitation from him. No kidding, Alan! You cannot tell a patient you are busy, then expect them to let you into their home the very next day. And the nurse was rude to not only me on the phone, but even told my mother several times, that, "if she didn't like the home care she was getting from him, then go find someone else!" Is this how you talk to elderly people, Alan? What if I did that to your mother. In two of those last visits from him, he wasn't even sanitized. He brought a bag in which he said was transporting human blood in it, and had the adacity to put it on our table without even asking. He copped an attitude with her regarding it. That was the last time he stepped foot into our home. I cannot trust someone like that with a few hrs, mins with my mother. Fast forward, finaly dealing with Alysha, who was their branch contact/in charge coordinator. This woman is a piece of work. After a grievance and complaint was filed, she was rude to my mother on the phone, informing her that if they could not see her one more time, they were going to discharge her. My mother said that if that is the way they were going to treat an elderly woman, then fine, don't come back. But Alysha contacted me as well, and kept calling me until I picked up. Again, not everyone is glued to their phone nonstop. People are working and are occupied at times. So just text and leave a number and someone will get back to you ASAP! Alysha's only customer she caters to is herself. I saw other reviews regarding someone stated being constantly being cut off. It likely was Alysha. And she tried the same stuff with me, stating that if they could not see her, not only were they going to dishcarge her, but would state that she missed multiple visits, and then made up some random number, which was never agreed upon. To make matters look worse for her, the worst comment you can make regarding a family member was the one she stated, which was, "we are moving on from her, she is not worth our time, and we are not making money on visiting her. She is not profitable" So to Alysha, and staff at Amedisys: We apologize for not being the type of people you want to cater to, or even the complexion of skin you absolutely love, because you would not treat us that way, if we were! And we are sorry we live in an apartment, and not some 5 home bedroom in the suburbs where your nurse can just come and watch tv and chill. The place is probably going to respond with, "we are sorry for your experience", cliche response. It isn't going to matter. Damage is done.

Right out of the gate... I couldn't even have a conversation with the person on the phone. She kept cutting me off while I was explaining my family member's needs. I wasn't on the phone for more than 3 minutes while I was explaining what I'm looking for, when she abruptly announces "Good Luck to you,". ....Huh?! HOW RUDE! If your phone service is this lousy, I can just imagine what you have on the front line. Thumbs down!
