At all costs do not waste your time as a nurse willing to serve in the community with Maxim!!! The recruiters are very unprofessional, lack effective communication skills, rude, and lack the knowledge to provide the very basic information regarding your potential patient and care. The recruiter in Sacramento CA, his name is Julio. The recruiter in the Emeryville CA, his name is Lee. Julio initially set up an onboarding orientation, and was to call me back for a second day for orientation. He never followed up! These two nursing recruiters are at the very bottom of the barrel! They have no clue regarding the patient! They need professional communication skills prior to communicating with the public. The onboarding process is absolutely backwards and ridiculous! I was informed that I would need to first attend an in person onboarding orientation for several hours. During the onboarding process I would receive the full report and care on my potential patient. Which agency does this????? No one does this because the process is backwards!! I have 44 years of nursing experience, hospital and home care experiences. I have always received full reports on my patients prior to moving forward and acceptance on a case. They put you through a lot of unnecessary drama, and not even bare minimum information regarding your patient! The patient is what the agency needs to focus on and provide adequate information to the nurse on the behalf of the patient. Every question you have, their answers were usually, “I don’t know.” The recruiter Lee, set a phone appointment with me at 2:30 PM. The arrangement was for him to call me. I was being courteous by waiting until 2:50 PM to call him. At this time I was informed he was at lunch!!! Hello??? Again, unprofessional, don’t care to waste your time!! If you don’t waste your time, certainly, don’t allow anyone else to do so!!!! After speaking with Lee about the patient, he said I will get back with you in a couple of weeks???? Keep moving forward, don’t waste your time with the bare minimum and lots of foolishness!! I would have provided a ZERO star unfortunately, the least is one star. I will notify the corporate office of this matter ASAP!

Avoid Maxim Healthcare at All Costs – Completely Unprofessional and Ineffective Do not waste your time with Maxim Healthcare. After nearly a year of services for my son, I can confidently say this provider has zero understanding of proper behavioral therapy (BT). There was absolutely no progress in my son’s development during our time with them. From top to bottom — whether it’s the therapists, coordinators, or supervisors — the staff is shockingly unprofessional, disorganized, and clearly untrained. They showed no consistency, no structure, and no genuine effort to help. Maxim Healthcare was a complete waste of time and a huge disappointment. Stay far away if you truly care about your child’s well-being and development.

Negative 5 stars if I could! Nearly all the shifts we get covered are no call, no shows! Stay far away! Better off finding assistance off Craigslist! Also not reliable caregivers as some of them fall asleep during shifts, leave claiming they have to have a lunch break, and again, NO CALL NO SHOW! Beyond unprofessional, and I wouldn’t recommend them to anyone. It’s sad that caregivers obviously don’t care about their jobs, or the people it affects.

Giving a 4 star as I’ve worked there for almost 2 years. I loved my recruiter, she was organized and had open communication. This is a great field to work in to gain experience! Also great for a college job as it is flexible work hours. I’ve recommended 2 friends to work there and they too enjoyed the job. Maxim pays well for ABA and they give you mileage for driving to multiple places. Only con is having to pay for your own RBT yearly as it’s something they want you to have. Also sometimes not finding hours due to client availability (emphasis on why it’s a great college job you aren’t expected to work 40 hours).
