My family had an absolutely wonderful experience with Vitas Hospice. We didn't know what to expect when my family members health continued declining but the amazing, supportive staff with this company were beyond exceptional walking us through the end of life experience. They truly supported us through the hardest time and have continued to offer us bereavement support too - I felt like every person we interacted with truly cares. That really has made such a difference for our family. I personally recommend this company and would trust them again in the future when it's time to get a family signed up for hospice again. Thank you everyone for all you do! You are making a difference.

We were super impressed with the care my father received in his last days. It was a super difficult time for him and our family. It was such a comfort knowing he was being helped by someone who truly cared. Thank you VITAS Healthcare. I highly recommend them.

When my dad was in his final days, this hospice team came alongside our family with such compassion, dignity, and care. From the very beginning, they guided us through the process with patience and understanding, making sure Dad was comfortable and that we never felt alone. Every nurse, aide, and staff member we interacted with treated him not as a patient, but as a person deeply loved. They answered our questions, supported us in the hard moments, and gave us the reassurance we needed when emotions were overwhelming. Their presence allowed us to focus on what mattered most spending meaningful time with Dad. I am forever grateful for the tenderness, respect, and professionalism they showed during such a difficult season. Hospice care is not easy work, but this team truly embodies what it means to walk families through the hardest goodbye with grace and kindness.

Signing up for Hospice for my husband felt like stepping off a cliff. I was plummeting into the unknown. We had absolutely no idea what hospice was, but my husband was in the hospital dying and we wanted to spend his remaining time at home together, peacefully. I signed with Vitas and dashed home to remove our dining room furniture in preparation for his new bedroom setup. Vitas immediately brought a bed, bedside tray table, oxygen, a hoist, potty chair, mucus vacuum… Much more than we could use. When we arrived home from the hospital in an ambulance, a nurse from Vitas arrived to assess my husband. She left me with a binder and a vague schedule of who would be coming to see us. I had questions as soon as the nurse left, but had been given a phone number to call if anything came up that I couldn’t deal with. Within the first 24 hours I had called Vitas three times. Each time I was given excellent advice and one time a nurse came to check on my husband. We were treated kindly and compassionately every single step of the way by every single Vitas employee. In the week my husband was home I called frequently and we were visited by the kindest people. I had no idea how much personal care my husband would receive. Caregivers came in eight hour shifts to monitor, turn, medicate, calm, and clean their patient. All new medications were given to us with demonstrations to teach me how to administer them. Yusuf, Armand, Crispina and Ragima took turns staying with us, nurses, Deb, Tas, and Virginia visited, Sabrina came to bathe my husband, Blake a social worker, offered services for emotional and practical needs. Deb, our assigned nurse, visited frequently. A chaplain was assigned to us, but we needed help before our scheduled appointment so Ever Mesa, a chaplain from 30 miles away, came to help us in the middle of the night when a mortuary was very soon to be needed, and I was very unsure of the process. I called any time I was baffled, worried, or in need of help and Vitas came through quickly every time, sometimes with a nurse, sometimes with advice or answers to questions. As it became clear that some of the equipment would not be needed, Vitas came and picked it up, with the reminder that they would bring it back if we needed it later. The evening my husband passed we had not been assigned any help, but I got a call from Crispina saying her client had passed and she wanted to return to us. She returned just after my husband died and helped us through the process. It was the scariest and most tragic time I have ever experienced, but Vitas brought us through it all in a very loving and gentle way.

A heartfelt and sincere THANKYOU to the VITAS Hospice program. What a loving, compassionate and efficient group of people that kick into high gear at the onset of signing up for the care. From the nurse that came to evaluate my mother's needs, to those delivering necessary equipment in a timely manner, to the caregivers that kept such a watchful eye, ready to act whatever the need, to the phone calls to check when you couldn't be there for a while, to the nurse there to meet every need as my mother took her last breath, you're all such a wonderful gift to your patient and to their family! My mother was only on hospice a very short time, but your considerate care with such love and your availability was amazing, and this at such a difficult and emotional time. You're there for the patient but you're also there for the family, too, willing to meet every need. Thank you so very much and God's continued blessings for the work you do. You and the care you provide are so helpful and so needed.
