Sutter Health Home Care has provided consistent, caring, and professional home medical care for my father. We have used this service many times and have never had a negative experience. I have respect for the and gratitude for what they do. Thank you.

My doctor sent a referral for wound care and a blood draw on Monday. I waited 4 days for them to contact me and set up an appointment so I called them on Thursday. I was told a female nurse would contact me on Friday to schedule an appointment for that day. I waited until 6pm for a call. Finally got a call from a male nurse a few minutes before he was coming to see me. They should have asked me if I preferred a male or female nurse because I only prefer females since I am female. Also, he should have called me hours before to let me know he was coming out. I could have told him then not to come. So then I was told that they would schedule an appointment for Saturday. It has now been 5 days of no wound care for an infected cyst that was on my back in a place that I cannot reach. It is now Saturday and I got another call telling me that they do not have any nurses that can see me today. They should have told me they could not schedule me for wound care because they were short staffed and had too many patients. (Dominican’s Dignity Home Care is closing and Sutter VNA is picking up their patients.) I have used VNA once before and was not impressed with their services. The nurse who took my blood didn’t even put down a covering under my arm and blood got on my white pants. Luckily it didn’t get on my chair. Also, the only stipulation I asked for was that they did not call me early in the morning. I am not a morning person! And guess when they called me? 7 AM and 8 Am in the mornings!!! I found out that there are two other Home Health Agencies that my insurance will pay for. They are located in the Monterey area and they will cover Santa Cruz county. If Sutter VNA had told me they were not able to see me in a weeks time, I could have been seen days ago by one of these other agencies and had my wound treated.

LESS THAN STAR... This agency sent a "Social Worker" who claimed to have a patient assistance fund for $500.00 per patient. Gave her the bills and guess what. They never got paid. Called on 3/28/22 and was told there was a SNAFU, but that it would be taken care of. In the meantime, the bills have gone to collections, ruining my Mother's hard earned credit. Called back on 4/22/22 and now they are saying, I have to speak to the "Social Worker." SHAME ON YOU VNA SUTTER SANTA CRUZ FOR GOING INTO A SENIOR CITIZEN'S HOME AND ALLOWING THEM TO THINK YOU CARE!!! 5/5/22 Just received a "Folllow Up" call from VNA asking what they could do to help? The bills went to collections and I paid them, so what can VNA do now? The Rep said she could call the collection agencies, but never actually said the bills would be paid!!!!! SHAME ON YOU VNA SUTTER SANTA CRUZ FOR FOLLOWING UP OVER TWO MONTHS LATER AND PRETENDING YOU ACTUALLY CARE ABOUT WHAT YOU DID TO MY MUM!!!!! SAVE YOUR MONEY SO THAT WHEN YOU GET SICK YOU DON'T HAVE TO CALL THESE PEOPLE FOR HELP!!!!

I'm very grateful for all the help my husband received during first 3 weeks after his surgery.

Absolutely terrible service and follow-up from this organization. Specifically, they deemed themselves-without seeing the patient-to make (non-emergency) medical appointments without asking the family members responsible if they were available, They were unable to keep commitments for patient evaluation or scheduling. This agency should not be entrusted to provide services to the elderly.
