I visited Mend Urgent Care Sherman Oaks/Woodman on Friday, Dec 12, 2025 around 3:30 PM with my mother. She was already anxious about coming in, and the front desk interaction unfortunately made things worse. A staff member who identified herself as “Elsa” spoke to us in a raised, sharp tone and was unhelpful because my mom only had a photo of her medical insurance ID card “not the physical card”. To keep my mom calm, I had her wait in the car while I spoke with someone else. The next staff member helped immediately and had no issue using the photo of the card so this felt less like a policy problem and more like a professionalism/customer service issue. I’m sharing this because patient facing staff set the tone, especially for nervous patients. I hope the clinic addresses communication and de escalation at check in.

Ask the doctor for cough syrup and got prescribed over the counter medicine, I could have done that myself. Then ask me to take a covid and step throat test that I know I dont have to charge me more but I refused. Never again !

Absolutely atrocious experience. Prescribed incorrect medication for incorrect diagnosis. Provided timelines on when testing would come back were incorrect. Refusal to provide proper medication for confirmed infection once test results finally did come back unless I was seen again (money grab). Told to go to ER or PCP for "another evaluation" upon questioning why I cannot receive proper medications for confirmed infection. Told I do not understand how Quest Diagnostics' tests "could be wrong". Dismissive, unprofessional, and angry providers.

Never ever will I ever go to Mend Urgent care anywhere I went to Van Nuys branch, I arrived at 12… had to wait til 12:45 because they on lunch break. when I walked it, they had no provider!!!! so they told me to go to woodman brach. it took me 4 hours i was feeling so sick they move at a glacial speed. I came back on Sunday cz I was not feeling better, I had to wait 2 hrs again to be seen there was only 1 patient ahead of me it’s frustrating! I do not recommend, go somewhere else

Initially, I rated my experience high based on the receptionist however after seeing the NP, Maria, and the lack of her follow up after I left several messages was concerning and unprofessional especially since she is responsible for taking care of patients and ensuring they are properly treated after service.
