My mom was recently discharged from Providence St. Joes and need daily IV antibiotics at home. There was a communication issue between the case manager and her original home health agency so no one was scheduled to show up the 1st day, I panicked and called the hospital right away, they scrambled to get a nurse out for my mom. Luckily they contacted Irena at Preferred Choice, she was an amazing nurse that came out that evening, took control of the situation, called the medical supplies company to make sure all the delivered medical equipment was correct. She even noticed my mom's lips were dried and cracked and used olive oil to moisten it up, you cannot ask for a better nurse! She came everyday for a week (even Sat/Sun) to administer the antibiotics, my mom fell again and was back in the hospital for 3 more weeks, during that time Irena kept in contact with me asking how my mom was and even suggested getting a 2nd opinion from a different doctor which we did, and that worked out quite well. Irena isn't just a great nurse, she's a caring person which is something you need in a nurse. Although we switched home health agencies when my mom was discharged again, Irena said if I have a medical issue in the future I could always contact her for advice, now that's someone who cares!
