When we had to put my dad on hospice a few weeks ago, a colleague recommended The Denver Hospice to me as I work in the home healthcare field. I will start by saying that their inpatient care center is PHENOMENAL and that the staff at the inpatient care center went above and beyond, but I wrote a separate review for the care center. We started with a consultation. The woman who came out to do the consultation took all of her notes on scratch paper, and it seemed as though none of this information was ever passed along to anybody else that we saw in the future. We were asked if we would like the comfort kit that evening, but we said that the next day would be fine. The next day, we saw the nurse. Neither the liaison nor the nurse arrived with any supplies. We also asked the nurse about the comfort kit, and we were informed that nobody told him to bring it and that he would need to put an order in for it. Our dad declined very quickly so I called that evening to ask about the medications. The on-call nurse (who was very kind) informed me that she would put a note in for us to be on the first med delivery the next day so that we would get them by early afternoon. The next day, we needed to have our dad admitted to the inpatient care center and we were waiting for an admit time. The social worker came to the house in the afternoon and brought the supplies. She asked many questions that others had already asked as if nobody had recorded any information. After the social worker left, I once again called the on-call nurse because the medications never arrived. I informed her that my dad would be admitted to inpatient at 9pm and wondered where the meds were so that we would have them at home if he returned home. She stated nobody had put in a note that he was going to inpatient care so she was glad that I let her know, and that the medication delivery would be there around 8:00 or 8:30pm. The medications did not arrive before we left, so I had to call them to cancel the delivery. I did express to the on-call nurse that I was less than impressed with the initial delivery of services and communication. I was assured that this would get better as the care team saw him regularly. My father was admitted to the inpatient care center and passed away in their care, so we no longer had to work with the in-home care team. The inpatient team was incredible and we ended up very happy with the care that he received there, but I don't know that I would recommend their in-home team.

Though circumstances never leave you wanting to write. A review about a hospice care. I must say that the facility is really nice. Each room has french doors, then open up into a courtyard that is peacefull it's nice that they think of the patience enough to give them a nice view. Have a garden. And a Courtyard, obviously. Each room is private and only family is welcome. Other than the staff, which I must say, we're all very kind thoughtful. Most people's feelings and considerate. A visitation time offering twenty four hour visitation to each the patient's family. They also have a family waiting room. That is stacked with all kinds of teas. Hot chocolate coffee? You name it and snacks for anyone who is waiting to see a patient or maybe hanging out. Waiting for family, it's very thoughtful. The entire facility was obviously well-thought-out and planned and designed To be very calm The atmosphere though no one wants to be there. Of course to visit someone. They love who may be passing. The atmosphere is still very warm, not cold like a typical hospice care. The staff are all very friendly and kind. Their voices are all very gentle. There's very nice artwork on the wall. That is bright, and not all dark and gloomy. It really is a peaceful facility, and in a nice area really. I couldn't imagine someone I love being in a place that is more peaceful than their own home but it doesn't feel like a hospital care there. Despite the circumstances, the feeling is very warm. When you walk in and everyone is really very inviting and thoughtful and again, considerate. Thank you all for taking such good care of my family. Answering any questions we had at any time and inviting us all in in such a way that we don't feel unwelcome.Well uncomfortable, any more than the process would allow.

My nephew has left this mortal plane and he was very comfortable and very well cared for by the professional staff at The Denver Hospice. The Denver Hospice is very considerate of the needs of family members who visit their loved ones in such sad and critical times as well. The rooms are spacious and comfortable with wifi available and television to help pass the time. They also have a small cafeteria area with a vending machine and a small selection of free snacks. I highly recommend this establishment.

I am extremely grateful to everybody who is involved with the Denver Hospice! When my mother was on her last dance, they took her in, and everyone was so very kind to her and to my sister and I. We were at a hospital in Lakewood and there was no available places for us to take my mother that would let us stay with her. It was very important that I stayed with her as I did not want her to go alone. The Denver Hospice was extremely accommodating and more so very supportive emotionally and spiritually. They dressed my mother's sores so much more thoroughly and carefully than anyone at the hospital. They accepted my mom's Medicaid and were happy to have us and such accommodating help. They had food and support for the visitors as well. It was during Christmas and Christmas carolers would come through the halls and sing. I finally felt like my mother was in a good place

Although our time with Denver Hospice was unexpected and brief, I don’t have enough words to describe how appreciative I am and what a difference they made in our lives. They were very well organized and showed comfort, dignity and compassion for my husband in his final days. Honestly, they were an army of the most caring, compassionate group of Angels I’ve ever had the pleasure to meet. They are worth their weight in gold for their expert care. From those I had the opportunity to meet in person, to those who work tirelessly at all hours of the day or night to assist, no matter the situation. I could not have done this without them. God bless them all.
