not a fan of this hospital for many reasons but i was so pleased with my doctor, the woman with short white/blonde hair with blue ends. i didn’t get her name unfortunately, she was straight forward and super nice. talks with confidence and puts you at ease, shout out to her whoever she is. the hospital would thrive with more people like her

Title: Horrific Experience — Please Avoid This Hospital in Lamar I’m writing this review a little over two years after the worst experience I’ve ever had at any hospital. I want to warn others about how horrid my treatment was at this facility in Lamar. I had to call an ambulance because I was throwing up bile and blood every minute and was in excruciating, debilitating pain. When I arrived, I was screaming from the pain — and instead of showing compassion, the nurse told me to “calm down.” When the doctor came in, I begged for pain medication because I could no longer handle the pain or vomiting. She looked at me and said, “We don’t give pain meds to someone like you.” The nurse then slammed the door and told me to “shut up.” I was terrified, humiliated, and still in unbearable pain. I told them I would rather go home and die than stay there. I left, still vomiting blood and bile. The next day, my doctor prescribed Vicodin so I could survive the pain. I had to dip my face in ice water for an hour just to keep the medication down. I continued vomiting for ten days straight. I later reported this incident to patient advocacy, but two days later I received a letter stating that the hospital had done “nothing wrong.” I escalated my complaint to a board member, but nothing changed. During that time, I even resorted to filling my bathtub with snow to relieve the pain. The hospital was also supposed to send in a prescription for antibiotics due to an infection, but they failed to do so — I had to take leftover antibiotics just to survive. Because of this trauma, I avoided seeking medical help for a long time. Eventually, after suffering through five similar episodes, I finally underwent a scope and was diagnosed with gastric bile reflux, gastroparesis, and Colitis — all extremely painful conditions that required hospitalization and stabilization. Had the hospital treated me appropriately, my suffering could have been minimized and possibly prevented. This hospital traumatized me for life. I now refuse to go to the ER, even in emergencies, because of what happened. No patient deserves to be treated the way I was. Do not go here — ever.

my 5 year old nephew went in for severe stomach pain, they blew it off as the flu THREE TIMES. no too long after his appendix burst inside him. he could’ve lost his life because of their negligence. it’s absolutely terrifying that lives are in these people’s hands, it’s amazing they haven’t been sued to hell. so scared something will happen to someone i love and my only option is to come here - get more eyes on the issue if someone has come in multiple times for the same issue. FIRE BAD STAFF!!! that should never have happened and the people responsible need to be held accountable, appendicitis is so common you’d think it’d be obvious?? remember how sacred and important your job is the public NEEDS YOU to be your best

Having lived in Lamar my entire life, I have been a patient at PMC a time or two. As have my wife and children. All of us have always received excellent care at PMC. Understanding the capabilities and limitations of a rural hospital will help others to be objective, fair and honest in their reviews. We are fortunate to have quality health care here in Lamar and PMC treats thousands of patients a year. Unfortunately they aren't given near as many compliments as they deserve. Thank you all for all that you do day in and day out to provide exceptional health care for all of us. It is appreciated.

I have an extensive and intricate knowledge of medicine and medical facilities after having had 16 major surgeries. The wait time was fine, until the nurse came in explaining the doctor ordered some x-rays for you. I was quite surprised, as I hadn't seen or been examined by ANYONE... Not even a janitor! She explained it was shift change. I have NEVER been in ANY facility, where tests are ordered before any examination whatsoever! The doctor was professional, however his bedside manner was lacking. After being discharged, I hadn't driven 100 yards, when I received a phone call from the doctor. He explained that the radiologist re-read my x-rays, and found a nodule on my lung. Maybe it was shift change again... Completely unacceptable and NEGLIGENT.
