Sarah did a wonderful job telling me how to recover from my shoulder surgery. I would recommend her for any recovery

Our family has worked with Enhabit several times over the past 6 months and have really had a wide range of experiences. Some great, some not great. Our experience with the PT side have been constantly good. From my grandfather hip replacement to my grandmother's leg surgery and broken clavical. PT- My grandfather loved working with Bob! He was really knowledgeable and easy to work with! My grandma has loved working with Amanda (PT)! She is fabulous-- kind, caring, helpful, informative, and listens to her patients' needs before providing advise or assessments. We have also enjoyed working with AJ (PT assistant). She is gentle, professional, and very thorough. OT- Our experience with OT has been inconsistent at best. First of all, scheduling is a NIGHTMARE. They call/email the day of or late day the day before to schedule services and expect you to accommodate. It took more than 2 weeks for Amanda (OT) to reach out for our initial assessment, then when we couldn't make her last minute scheduling work, during the busy holiday season, we were told, "If this doesn't work I'm not sure home health is appropriate. We try to work with people but when availability is so limited it makes it very difficult. When someone is homebound they should be available for scheduling." After reaching out to her manager, Angela, to express my unhappiness regarding Amanda's insensitivity towards my grandmother's age and abilities (how dare she have a life outside of therapy! ****isn't that the point of therpy??) and lack of consideration regarding scheduling, Amanda did apologize and did a good job during their first therapy session. The next OT, her assistant, Amy was equally unaccomodating, and obviously overwhelmed. She was in and out of the house in 30 minutes after taking vitals. Amy offered no solutions, exercises, or adaptive strategies when my grandmother expressed difficulty eating (she's right handed with a broken clavicle on the right side). Amy just commented that "luckily" she was dressed in dark colored clothing. When my grandmother mentioned she was having difficulties cleaning up after using the restroom, so she would like to work on that. Amy mentioned possibly purchasing a bidet, but did not provide any exercises or adaptive strategies to manually cleaning. Both of the girls seem to lack experience. And either, both lack compassion with the elderly, or inadequate expectations of what should be expected of their treatment of patients. Both girls are either clearly unable to adequately manage their time or they have been given an unacceptable workload. It's been over a month of complete disappointment in the OT team, without a solution from enhabit, other than just going without services (discharge) or moving care to another company. I'm not sure if this is a representation of the individual therapist or Enhabit's OT program as a whole, but when you see the same behavior in 2 out of 2 team members, I think it's safe to start looking at the employer. Also, when you have reached out to management and have no resolve, I think it's safe to start placing blame at the top. These negative experiences, week after week, not only take a toll on our family member's physical health, but emotional and mental health as well. Based on our experience, I strongly recommend looking elsewhere for addressing your loved ones' home health occupational therapy needs.

Three nurses and visited so far and all three have been absolutely terrific. Kind. Listening. And willing to do anything.
