I have had a wonderful experience here. Not sure why anyone would complain. My family has been well cared for

I give three stars because it isn't terrible but it isn't wonderful either. It's so so. What really makes it is the nurse and care you get. For example, if you are assigned a really good and caring nurse with bedside manner, then it's five stars. But the turnover is so frequent there that it's so hard to pinpoint a review. My experience through this service was medication administration from LPN, with RN visits in between. My service began from a hospital stay in 2019 and just ended last week. I had switched doctors over the years and the service malingered on for six years. That is way too long for a visiting nurse to give to a healthy non homebound adult. Finally my doctor and i agreed that it's come time for me to handle my own medication. My point here is that i think that someone in the higher up should have over seen my case (and/or cases like mine) which are just going on and on with no necessity. That is what the word malingering means. And since my insurance is Medicaid Husky, it just kept getting approved. My friend who has Medicare and wanted the same service wasnot able to get it past three weeks due to Medicare not authorizing it. So perhaps Family Care as a company needs to look at exactly who is in need or who is just maintaining status quo. Had someone once looked into this three years ago, brought it up to my Dr, then the service would have been discontinued then. That's what leads me to believe they put profit over need. Because the time spent on the "un" needed is taking away time for the truly needy. I also need to mention that when i spoke to Medicaid directly about all this, i was informed that after all those years that i should be directed about how to prepour my medication. For example, the medications are kept in a lock box at my home. The nurse comes and unlocks it and puts the meds in the sleeves for the patient. Now after so many years,, if the VNA is still necessary, Medicaid informed me that I should be putting my own meds out in front of the nurse so i am "learning" how to fly on my own. Bringing this up to two of the Rns and they let me do this under their supervision, but the last nurse i had said no, and proceeded to hover over the medicine like i was a thief in a jewelry store ready to pounce. No , uh uh, not acceptable. There was no continuity from nurse to nurse. If i was lucky to get a good nurse for a year or so, they'd leave and i'd be hanging on, stressing out over my medications, when they'be picked up, when they'll be administered, etc. When i complain about certain nurses who are downright rude, the complain falls on deaf ears. So, all in all it depends on the nurse. Thank u to those wonderful nurses that truly cared about me and my well being: Danielle, Anna, Margo, Jen, Michelle, Becky, Mike, and Rhonda..Some of whom are no longer there..

I was just insulted by one of your aides when I called her out on her laziness in caring for a friend of mine. I was told to mind my own business which is a sure sign that she knows she's guilty. An honest aide wouldn't have to say that. She spends most of her time with someone who is not her client, sitting on her rear end in our facility's only wheelchair watching TV or yakking on the phone. The only reason I'm giving her one star is because I can't give zero. Avoid this agency at all cost.
