My Father passed away on 3/14/2025 and I felt the need to publicly express my disappointment in this establishment. Executive Director Beverly Wilson is a friend of my Fathers second wife and also is a member of the same church. Due to these factors, Beverly stated she "had a personal interest" in my father's care and that our family was elevated to VIP status. Mrs. Wilson overstepped her role within the company and involved herself in personal family dynamics that had nothing to do with my father's care and made his final days very uncomfortable. Even with the Executive Directors "personal involvement" there were still questionable circumstances that couldn't be explained. Dad was overdosed on a medication he'd never taken and was sent home from Cates house without enough medication to get him through the weekend. I didn't think Hospice was able to assign priority status to families who are affiliated with a particular church. Very unethical.

I can’t say enough about all of the HMC teams that took care of my mom last year! The communication was excellent and she was comfortable through her journey. My mom passed away at Cates House and Dr Velez and her team were kind, compassionate and always went out of their way to make sure we all had whatever was needed. Thank You to Hospice of Marion County for their empathy and support during our families journey. I will always refer family members and friends to this amazing organization.

Mrs. Never Beenhappier

I called in a panic bc I didn't know what to do about an issue I was having with my sick brothers catheter. Nurse Kevin answered the phone and heard me panicking and told me he's on the way. 20 minutes later he arrived and showed me how to deal with the catheter properly and answered all my questions. He was thorough and professional and helped ease my fears and when he left I felt confident that this will all be in. Thank you ,thank you Nurse Kevin and the staff at Hospice!!

After losing my granny who was like a second mom to my siblings and I growing up.. I am happy she’s not suffering anymore and home with our Lord and Savior but, that was and still is one of the hardest things I’ve ever been through. I don’t think I would have handled it as well as I did if it wasn’t for God, my family and the amazing team we got to work with to take care of my granny. I’m beyond grateful for all of the help and kind words that were shared with us from everyone at Empath. Richard is awesome at what he does and so are the nurses. They’re truly angels on Earth. We thank you guys from the bottom of our hearts. God bless y’all ♥️🙏
