Excellent! Beyond 5 stars! I had the pleasure & blessing of being healed, helped at West Gables Health Care Center for 18 days, therapy for shoulder & humerus replacement. The food delish, & I’m adhering to the same diet at home as there. My patient area was so much like a nun’s cell, I’d almost become one years ago. I felt God with me, could sense Jesus walking through the rooms, halls, particularly at night. The professional attention I received was Signature. Nurse Jackie, Day nurse, was so patient & kind; Nurse Damauris, Night nurse, put up with my old lady drama & nerves, what an angel! Dear Aine, so helpful, understanding of my fear of my of new limitations, so knowledgeable in helping me dress & undress with my only one operable arm, an excellent CNA/Aide. Sweet Ana, an Aide/CNA I only met once at night; dear Dayami, CNA/Aide, at my side in an instant when I’d ring bell; Jaira, CNA/Aide, gentle & patient; Señor Robert Castro (forgive pls, forgot title) who came from the same barrio as I in NYC West Side, we shared many memories & he was so comforting about my heart situation, discovered at Baptist when being prepped for the orthopedic procedure; Señor Humberto, so gentle in taking blood for labs. My amazing physical therapist, Leonell, magic fingers, magic hands, soothing away so much soreness & pain, I still do the wonderful therapy exercises he showed me. I have “acquaintances” who when I told them I had to choose a rehab place, said, “oh no, not West Gables, they’re from the ‘70’s” - well, maybe “old” or “dated;” but the therapy is 10 ⭐️’s; the best wine is aged, the Pyramids are ancient, the Taj Mahal unequaled. West Gables should be the high bar standard of rehabilitation health care facilities. It is a place where not only the body but mind, heart & spirit are mended, healed, where saints are born, saints are made, God bless your wonderful facility, administration, staff, associates, housekeeping, cafeteria persons. Jacky and Javy excellent nurses and Maria, Doris CNA they couldn't be better therapy Alberto, Juan Pablo and Leo excellent teraphist learned a lot from them they are very knowledgeable. my opinion is that west Gables has a nice staff and I wanted to acknowledge Rosalba for her excellent job.

The care was very professional, and very patient, which was especially important to me because I was recovering from surgery. Doctors and therapists were on rounds, very responsive, and stopped to explain everything that was going on. Staff were always friendly, asked questions, and very mindful of my privacy. I can't pick out anyone, but it was because everyone seemed to be "on point", in my view. There were some minor problems, such as missed menu items, occasional noise, people going into the wrong room, treatment changes, equipment problems etc., which I am discounting because this is not a hotel, and everyone was always responsive. I saw oncoming shift staff being walked through by the outgoing staff who updated them on the current situation which was always changing, and this made me feel very safe. Good place. I hope not to need then again, but I'm glad they were there for me.

The CNA staff is very kind and attentive. The Physical Therapists work with you diligently to allow you to reach the goals that have been set for you. The Nurses dispense your medications and are. always very attentive if you need pain medications prescribed. The Activities staff is always trying to engage all patients to participate in fun game activities. Overall I had a very nice experience in my two weeks stay.

Excellent care facility for elderly. Starting with the first call to Mike in patient services who got me on the right path, then to Norma at the business office, who assisted us with the daunting task of the health care paperwork during a couple of holidays (Thanksgiving/Christmas) to Virginia, my go to nurse when I answer and she would see to it immediately, and last but not least, the physical therapist, Alexandra was not only wonderful, but also returned my phone calls EVERY SINGLE TIME, as I called her from overseas and she provided me the much needed assistance at the time, just want to say THANKS. Social Services Blanca and Rosaura, who patiently explained the process. The premises are always clean, and the patients are well taken care of and clean. Food service provided a menu with plenty of choices and the center does provide various activities throughout the day for the elderly. Thanks to all that made it a little easier for me to gather and process all information, care and assistance needed for our family member. Thanks to all the staff! Ten ⭐
