Parents have lived at JKV for many years. The food has progressively gone downhill. Inquiring phone calls are not answered in a timely manner—2 weeks and continuing to wait. Furthermore, JKV key employees cover many mistakes that contribute to health issues. Unfortunately, management couldn’t care less. It’s all about money and not the residents! Beware!!!!

Jackie at Oak View is very sincere and caring individual . She is Administration secretary. The rest of the staff including the Patient Care Coordinator , administrator at Oak view are a joke . They lack professional skills .

This review is in response to the lady, two years ago, who thought food at John Knox Village was one step above "Institutional" quality, My wife and I were guests at 'SH Cranes Dining' last night and the whole experience could not have been any better had we been at a 5 star restaurant. The room was elegant, the service was top notch and the four course dinner was 'to die for'. My King Crab legs and my wife's Filet Mignon couldn't be beat anywhere. We wholeheartedly recommend this 'Fine Dining' facility, and the amenities offered at John Knox Village appear to be 'top of the line'.

This is being written at the request of my mother (who has been a resident for the past 6+ years) and her resident friends. At one time, John Knox had a great reputation for outstanding, gourmet-quality cuisine. Unfortunately, that is no longer true. Today, it is one step above institutional quality. The names of the dishes and their printed description are still interesting and sound good, but they are bland and mediocre with a poor presentation. Since the change of chef a few years ago, the quality, taste and appearance has decreased. In the past, the residents were proud to play host for family and outside-friend gatherings in the dining rooms, but not so much now. Those residents I know continually apologize for the lack of quality. This is sad. These people pay a significant amount to live in this community and a major marketing component is its' dining experience. While the dining facilities and serve staff remain excellent, the food is poor. I have made several 2-week visits to my mother over the years and have experienced the change in quality. Given how important the dining experience and social "get-together" is to the residents on a daily basis, it is sad to note the decrease in quality. It is time for a major over-haul of chef and kitchen staff. Hopefully, the overseers of John Knox Village will take this to heart and ensure quality changes in food offerings, taste and presentation to bring it back up to its former standards of excellence.
