My experience with Halifax Hospice was horrific. My brother was admitted on the holiday weekend (Memorial Day) and the team nurse didn’t visit until Tuesday. She had an attitude, no bedside manner. We were left to make my brother comfortable on our own. No “comfort kit” was ever ordered or delivered. I was a hospice nurse and I can’t believe the level of uncaring we as a family endured. My brother and me, we are nurses, were left to keep my brother comfortable. We are his siblings, not his nurses, where was Hospice???

I highly recommend Halifax Health Hospice. My mom had stage 4 cancer, and we brought her home to care for her during her final days. Marti from Halifax was incredibly kind and made the entire process of bringing her home quick and simple. Our nurse, Katherine, was absolutely phenomenal. She truly was an angel, helping to ease our worries with her professionalism and compassion. Each time she visited, my mom was clean, comfortable, and everything was perfectly in order — going above and beyond what we could have ever expected. We are truly in awe of her work ethic and heartfelt care. I also want to recognize our CNA, Pamela, who did a wonderful job caring for my mom and consistently reassured us that she was there whenever we needed her. Choosing Halifax Health Hospice for my mom’s care was the best decision I could have made. If I ever need hospice services again, I would choose them without hesitation. Halifax is incredibly fortunate to have Marti, Katherine, and Pamela on their team. They made a profound difference for our family, and we are forever grateful.

I am sharing almost one year later. My Dad was at Halifax right after Christmas until right after New Years Day 2024. The staff is the most amazing group of people you will ever meet. Dad had sundowners really bad and the first 2 nights the nursing staff had their hands full with caring for him. He was there 6 days and 6 days of care from the nurses, volunteers and reverend. They kept Dad clean, turned him every few hours and knew when to remove the blankets and when to add them. They treated my Dad with dignity and treated us with compassion and respect. No words can encompass the gratitude for the above as we told our Dad our goodbyes. Thank you to all of the staff.

We honored my mom's wish to pass at home. She passed on Feb 29th...Halifax Health Hospice was amazing. We asked for something for mom and we had it by the next day. They reminded us continually they were there 24 hours if we needed them....and they were. Her RN...Carly was so compassionate...my mom loved getting visits from her...she always called and asked if we needed anything before she came. When her time was close they managed her pain incredibly well. My family was touched very deeply by the care she received all the way through. Thank you so much to everyone who was there for my mom...may God bless you as you have blessed us.
