My daughter is under home care by Amedysis. She has multiple health issues that require constant and timely care. She was 65 days at TMH this summer and back again for two weeks from before Thanksgiving. Poor organization and communication is a HUGE problem with this company. There is one nurse who is exceptional and over and above in care and communication, but she is not always available. My daughter came home from the hospital yesterday and is on an antibiotic infusion schedule that requires a nurse to administer. TMH set up the schedule for a nurse to be at the house NO LATER THAN 1:00 PM. The medicine was sent by fed ex to us here at the house and arrived on time by 11:00 AM. today. The nurse never showed up and when we finally got in touch with him after 3:00PM -2 hours late!- he said he would be here in an hour and did not even seem concerned. He would not answer our questions and kept cutting us off the conversation. No apologies were offered. This is totally unacceptable for a health care management company. Timely administration of medications is a primary concern for any patient. Amedisys is not found or rated on the Better Business Bureau. Now I know why. I would not recommend using this company and do not know why TMH has them on their list of Home Health companies to use for after-hospital care.
