Amicable Home Health Care has taken care of my mother for the past few years. I am very happy with their services. The staff is very attentive, respond quickly to any issues or changes we may have. This company happens to be the absolute worst of the worst and unless you're looking to have your loved one left out to dry find yourself a better more efficient operation immediately. I cannot explain to you how many times I have made appointments for my father where I called in to have him scheduled to be picked up and taken to this particular appointment and either the time or day was not recorded and he either missed the appt or had to be rescheduled. But it gets even better than that. When you call in to make them aware of the situation they don't take an ounce of blame but rather shift the blame on you for their mishap. In my most recent experience, I called in on 4/21 and dealt with Alyse. I told her I needed my father to be scheduled for pickup on 4/26 @ 1:15 for his 1:45 appt. I got the usual "no problem" we will have it all taken care of from her. So 4/26 arrives and when I call in to ensure my father's pickup for his appt Alyse has one of her usual senior moments where she tells me my father is scheduled to be picked up @ 1:15 for his 1:45 appt. only prob is, it's the wrong doctor this time! When I go to correct her she automatically goes on the defensive telling me who scheduled the appt that I've got it all wrong all because she was too lazy to most likely record the info I originally gave her. When I then ask to speak with her superior Lucy who owns this despicable operation I'm transferred to a black hole where my calls never get returned. Lucy is running an operation that is way over her head with a staff who treat their clients like the sludge of the earth. Private duty is a paid-for service!! My father wound up missing a terribly important appt where he is losing blood and had been very weak and between Alyse, Rosie, and Lucy never even bothered to return my calls or even see to it that he was taken to the appt that they clearly mishandled. However I can explain situation after situation where they botched up these appts but you get the point. The operation is being ran from the seat of their pants and certainly can't imagine they'll be around for long treating people like me and my father like cattle. And one more thing. Having spent the last 30 years in business myself I've learned long and hard, when you make a mistake in handling a situation with the customer don't ever go to blame the customer. Be a professional and own to your mistakes and simply apologize. it goes a hell of a long away and can quickly repair the relationship without doing damage.
