This company’s treatment of new hires raises serious concerns about discrimination, lack of professionalism, and poor leadership judgment. During orientation, there were repeated communication failures caused by the company itself, including unclear reporting locations, incorrect or changing instructions, and last-minute schedule changes that were not verbally communicated. Despite this, responsibility was placed entirely on the employee. After transparently disclosing a mandatory court appearance and attempting to coordinate time appropriately—while remaining current on all orientation modules and requirements—I was abruptly terminated. No clear reason was provided, no corrective action was taken, and no opportunity to address concerns was offered. What is especially troubling is that once pregnancy and unavoidable medical and legal obligations were disclosed, the tone and treatment noticeably shifted. Legitimate, documented life circumstances were reframed as “attendance” or “behavior” issues, despite no missed orientation days and all work being completed on time. This raises valid concerns about discriminatory decision-making, particularly toward pregnant employees or those with protected obligations. Healthcare is a field that requires empathy, flexibility, and ethical leadership. Unfortunately, this organization demonstrated the opposite—choosing surveillance, nitpicking, and rapid termination over communication and reasonable accommodation. The high turnover and constant hiring make sense after experiencing how quickly and dismissively new hires can be treated. I strongly encourage healthcare professionals—especially those who are pregnant or managing real-life responsibilities—to proceed with caution and document everything if they choose to work here.
Curious about everything
Back in the fall of this year my life partner decided to stop all cancer treatments. Our son, with guidance from her doctor, contacted Visiting Nurses Healthcare concerning hospice care. Shortly thereafter we were assigned Luke, Alexis (nurses) and Tiara (CNA) All three were professional, knowledgeable about their work, kind, caring and empathetic. Understanding this was a terrible situation they answered any and all questions we had ensuring we understood without making us feel like dunces. Even if it meant staying a little longer they did. As she continued to decline, some days, the only time she smiled was when they walked in. Tiara would lean in close and say, "Hi, Miss Tami!" Tam's whole face lit up. I don't know the words to express how impressed we were with the three of them, what a great job they did helping her and managing her pain as well as teaching us the basics of caring for someone in need of total care. (We had no clue all that it entailed) I hope no one needs this type of help with a loved one but, if you do, I would definitely go with Visiting Nurses Healthcare (Atlanta) We once had an issue with her blood pressure on a weekend. We called and not only did someone answer and help us but they called back to check and make sure all was well. The day she passed a nurse called offering to talk me through CPR but, unfortunately, she was beyond help. Visiting Nurses Healthcare was absolutely fabulous! MLR

Things started out okay but ended badly. I'm giving a one star due to poor customer service and non responsive management. I must say for the most part, the nurses were professional and attentive. However, the pervasive problem was consistently with the physical therapists. The home health staff i.e., nurses, physical therapists, and occupational therapists, each call the evening or night before between 4 p.m. and 8 p.m. to schedule services for the next day. The appointment time is never precise, just an approximate one or two hour window. This practice is inconvenient but apparently the normal practice for this company with zero flexibility. During my mom's treatment, most of the staff would call between 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. to schedule for the next day. However, Karen, (one of the physical therapists) was notorious for calling or texting at 7, 8 and even 8:30 p.m., the night before to schedule services for the next day. There were times when I needed to request a different time than the one Karen would dictate, and she was always annoyed by my requests. One time, Karen yelled and became irate when I said, "unfortunately that time doesn't work for us," and requested a different timeframe. Karen gaslighted me and acted as if it was a problem for me to simply request a different timeframe. When I explained to Karen that a few other staff; (nurses, OT & PT) were more amenable and willing to make adjustments in scheduling, Karen angrily replied, “well I’m not them," and sarcastically stated that she didn't offer her patients preferential treatment when it came to scheduling. I told her that I never asked for "preferential treatment" just a more convenient time. Her attitude was rude and unnecessarily hostile. The next day, I called management to make a complaint. I left a message, and got no response. The next week, they discharged my mother from service and never said a word to us. The PT staff just stopped showing up. When I called to follow up, I finally spoke to Jon, the PT manager. Jon offered no apology for Karen's rude behavior and inflexibility. He simply said that my mom was discharged and due to the difficulty in scheduling times for PT services, we should look elsewhere. I didn’t write a review when it happened, but should have. Later, when we were referred to them again. Very hesitantly, we agreed to try them only if my mom would be assigned a different PT other than Karen. However, I later found out that someone in PT told upper management that I was 'hostile' and refused to extend services to my mom. If I had to bet, I'm sure it was Karen or the lead PT Jon who covered up for her by misrepresenting what really happened so they could appear faultless to upper management. I would not recommend this company. Their managers are non-responsive. Customer service is non-existent. Management enables rude interactions by their staff to the patient’s family members and does nothing to address or correct it. There should never be a time when a physical therapist yells or becomes rude and sarcastic when a family member is simply trying to arrange a convenient appointment time for their loved one. Bottom line, if you want great service and professional physical therapists for your loved one, find another home health provider that is more professional and capable than Visiting Nurse Health System.

I deeply regret choosing Visiting Nurses Hospice to care for my husband during the final two months of his life. The overall experience was extremely distressing, and while I have no other hospice provider for comparison, I believe the level of care we received fell far below what anyone should expect in end-of-life situations. Over those two months there were numerous issues that, in my view, contributed to hastening my husband’s decline and death. To make an already heartbreaking situation worse, when the nurse arrived to pronounce his passing, she attempted to “clean” him in a way that felt utterly disrespectful. She took a single cleansing wipe, used it on his left arm and armpit, and then wiped the same wipe across his face. That was the extent of it. My son and I found this act degrading and deeply upsetting during an already devastating moment. I share this review in the hope that others will think very carefully before selecting Visiting Nurses Hospice and that the organization will address these serious shortcomings.

I had a hard time getting the correct team together for my mom’s care. But once the nurse and aid, they worked well together. I had problems with the equipment being delivered and medication arriving on time. During my mom’s last days, Tiah and Cherika , stayed up to date with her and made sure she was comfortable. After my mom, passed I didn’t hear from Vnhs did not contact me for almost 2 weeks, I was told that was their policy. During that time, I needed assistance with my mental health and had no one to talk to. Also once my mom passed, I could not get forms I needed for insurance purposes. Right now, they have had a form for over a week, and it is still not done. They only have a few people that are willing to help. For future reference, I would not recommend them to anyone.
