I’m thankful for Aspen. The facility is clean and beautiful. The staff is amazing. Many are long term which says a lot about the company. My mom has been here 3 times and each time is exactly what she needed

Our experience with Aspen Rehab has been considerably mixed. Moving our parent to facility was smooth and uneventful. Unfortunately, I think the information regarding care was not. I knew going in from past experience that without an advocate present information flow falls apart. Without our intervention with Aspen staff regarding medication it would have been a mess. The key is finding the right person at Aspen to talk to. Admitting nurse was good but it required us to track down Aspen staff to get information. Going in we were really looking for the assessments to help understand patient needs. We were told that mental, and physical assessments would occur. It didn't until the end of stay after we made the decision to leave. The expense of the stay for the service delivered was completely unfair. Having to track down staff to get answers was by far the most frustrating for us advocates. Additionally, the food was consistently bad, the TV reception was bad and the timely response to pushing the button to get help was on average 2 hours. The only process that seemed to work smoothly was payment. So, for all the folks having to go to rehab do your homework, don't just look at pretty surroundings and reviews. Visit facility, ask about staff to patient ratios and don't leave loved one to fend for themselves in any facility you choose.

Since this is a transitional rehab, I appreciated the freedom and flexibility. The staff was like family to each other and the patients. The food was good, and I enjoyed eating in the dining room to be able to associate with other patients, but I will bring your meal to your room. The therapy was great, and I got my strength back and learned how to manage stairs, wheelchairs, and getting in and out of the car.

Our experience at Aspen was horrible. 24 hours after he was checked in, I arrived at 2 pm to find my husband sitting in a dark room, door closed, hunched over on his walker. He was confused and slightly delirious, saying things that made no sense. I immediately alerted his "nurse" and someone arrived to take his blood pressure, which was alarmingly low (80/40). I requested that they also take his temperature (slightly elevated) and then asked to have the doctor see him. The nurse returned saying the doctor would order blood work in the morning, then offered my husband some broth and crackers to try to get his blood pressure up. I immediately realized that the crackers contain ingredients that he is unable to eat due to food intolerances (all noted on his records), called it to her attention and she commented that she forgot to check. When I asked if the broth was safe for him to eat, she acknowledged that she didn't know. Ultimately, I called the triage team at his physician's office because I had no confidence in the medical staff at Aspen. It was decided he should be transported to the ER via ambulance. En route, his blood pressure dropped precipitously and he came in as a critical patient and was later admitted to the ICU I firmly believe that if I hadn't intervened, my husband would have died while in Aspen's care due to their ignorance. I can't overstate how unprepared they are to deal with any kind of medical issues and strongly recommend you avoid this place.

I was there in August 2018 for 12 days. The staff took excellent care of me. They were compassionate and professional at all times, but also seemed like they cared about every patient, like family. The rooms were spacious, I had a nice view from my window, and the food was delicious. Everyone was so helpful. When I need another rehab place, this is where I would choose to go.
