I was setting on my walker seat waiting on the sidewalk in front of where I live for my ride to a doctor appointment. A man walking his dog had stopped to chat and let me pet the dog. An OSF home health nurse whom I had never met approached calling out my name and asked why I was there and I told her I was waiting for a ride to my doctor appointment. She insisted I didn't have an appointment since she has access to my MyChart but I did have an appointment. She went on to ask what time tomorrow she could come drain my catheter. I didn't know what to say as I didn't have my calendar with me. She told me a time she would be there and walked away. The man with the dog asked what was her problem and what kind of catheter was she needing to drain that you might be familiar. Fortunately my ride pulled up and I left. When I reported it to OSF home health Care they asked what damages had been caused, that nothing would be affected by it but I have not received services since and I'm in need of someone to drain my pleurx catheter. It was very unprofessional and mean. I am in very poor health and I don't need people treating me mean to make me feel bad. I try not to let it get me down, unfortunately that situation really devastated my spirit. It was such nice weather and I got to pet a dog and then things went very badly

Hospice bath aide Tina is the worst. She was my grandpa's bath aide and now she the bath aide of friends. I did inform my friends when they stated that they don't think their loved one was getting showers, that they probably weren't because she always always always says they refuse and if not she tells the nurse that other people are giving them showers which is untrue. I personally don't recommend this Hospice and would recommend another Hospice. At least you know your family is cared for and receiving baths. Js.

My Mom was fortunate enough to have OFS hospice during the final months of her life...our nurse, Alanna, was competent, attentive and made us feel cared for in more ways than I thought possible... fantastic program... keep up the excellent work

Hospice is free, but it would be kind of them to alert you that once your loved one starts their care in a nursing home Medicare no longer pays any bills. In other words you pay for the nursing home out of your own pocket. Just a alert what of been fine.

Personally, what I have seen is they were not set up to deal with this situation. The hospital Administrative DR. who was more concerned with the fact that the insurance would stop paying due to such a lengthy stay over ruled the specialist who insisted on respite care first then home with hospice. The medical equipment came very fast but hospice itself and the hospital as usual were not on same page. This is not a person that can be taken care by one human. It is going to take full 24 hour a day care as the specialist said. Supplies were not given. The nurse doesn’t seem to know much more than the neighbor lady and it is taking a week to get them going. IT is a joke and one that will not end with me laughing nor will they be laughing I could go on. But I will let the attorney do all of that in the end. I have had my fill with this medical system in this county.
