Advent is the home care agency my mother uses for showering and laundry. Advent is located out of her assisted living facility. The facility itself is wonderful and I cannot say enough good things about that-but Advent has been absolutely terrible since the day my mom began using their services. When I first called to set up scheduling for showers and understand when laundry would be picked up, as well as how billing was going to work (when will my mom be charged, will this be automatic, etc) the person I spoke with yawned the entire time and it felt like I was getting nowhere. I would ask a question and get no response...I would have to ask again. A few days later, after no one showed on the date I was told they would visit with my mom and start her shower schedule, this same person called me to set up my mom's schedule and acted as if we had never talked... But, people are understaffed and busy and I took all of this with a grain of salt. However, my mom was charged on a totally different day I was told she would be charged and her account over drafted. There was no apology for this, no one at Advent took any accountability, no one fixed this, and mom was charged fees from her bank. Every single month since January, when my mom started using Advents services, there have been countless issues. There are constant no-shows on the dates she is scheduled to receive a shower. Every month, sometimes 2-3x a month, caregivers do not show up when they are supposed to and my mom has gone DAYS without a shower. Furthermore, clients are charged at the beginning of the month for services to be rendered during the month ahead. You are paying in advance for services people do not show up to do! I have had to pay very close attention to the billing and keep track of my mom's showers and no-show's on a calendar because Advent charges her for a full month of service and then doesn't show. I am sure they charge others the same way. Advent has lost my mom's clothes twice. Both times, Advent has just brushed my mom off about these problems until I have had to reach out... over and over... pretty much demanding a resolution. All of this is totally unacceptable and I highly suggest not going with this company if you can avoid it. The only good things I can say about this company is that the people who actually provide the showers are nice, friendly people who care about my mother's safety and, the company does not charge as much as other company's for these services. My mom has said there are people where she lives who get the wrong medications assigned to them by Advent and/or do not get the right meds. If we were in the position of having to have this company oversee something as important as medicine management & administering, we would definitely seek help elsewhere. Because my family is close enough to help with a shower here and there when Advent doesn't follow through, and because we pay close attention to billing and we are on top of overpayments, we continue to use their services. Other families who cannot provide that type of oversight for their loved one, steer clear.

This is a wonderful organization!. There is a young lady i believe her name is Latress she works at the concord building she is amazing!!! she is always available to answer my questions and she is very caring!!! The caregivers do an excellent job.
