I had the opportunity of having PT, OT and skilled nurse come to my home and provide services. Each person was wonderful. This is the second time I needed services and I certainly would use them again.

Advocate Home Health is a pathetic service. Long delays, don't answer their phone (even after being on hold for 30 mins), gave incorrect information that caused medical errors and complications. Stay far away from these incompetents.

The Absolute WORST Advocate Aurora Heath Division. 1 star is far to many for the terrible customer service. Where is the management team?

My 96 year old mother who requested hospice serVices at Lutheran General Hospital was referred for this agency. The initial nurse I met with assured me my mother would be cared for in the hospital unless by some miracle she improved. This was on a Thursday evening. The next day another hospice nurse informed me they would try to switch my mother to sublingual morphine to control pain and if that worked transfer to a nursing home. I was very upset by the quick jump to transfer and worried about how much pain my mother would be in during a transfer. The hospitalist called the next day and told me my mother was being increased on her morphine drip and she was actively dying. The hospitalist was honest, caring and comforting. I am a licensed clinical social worker and have no idea how these hospice nurses are trained, but the anguish this nurse caused me was uncaring and unethical. Stay away from Advocate Hospice through Advocate Home Health Care.

I had a serious orthopedic surgery at Advocate Condell Hospital in Libertyville during December of 2018. My experience there was stellar! 5 stars all the way through to discharge. The issues began once I was back home and was registered for home care and Physical Therapy with Advocate Home Care. A pregnant nurse named Kathy came to my home. She was based out of their Lake Zurich office. This person had absolutely no empathy or compassion that is clearly a job requirement for anyone who is or wants to be a nurse. She showed up unprepared for changing the dressing on my surgical wound and had the nerve to tell me, “I can order the supplies you need and have them shipped to your home so you can change the dressing yourself”. I was stunned and realized she only cared about getting me to sign the paperwork for billing purposes. When she left I spoke with a manager named Rob and asked that Kathy never return to my home again!!! Following that conversation and at the advice of my surgeon, home services were canceled. Based on my experiences with this organization, I would recommend going elsewhere. They are all about billing insurance companies and should change their business name to Advocate Home “Could Care Less!”
