TLDR: ER staff, including Dr Gill & Sharon the Supervisor, are highly uneducated in trauma, mental illnesses, sexual assault victims, and general respect for patients! If you have PTSD, or other mental health issues, the ER staff will NOT treat you for those, or even treat you like a human. The Dr walked into my room without knocking, and practically demanded, "why are you here! We don't treat mental health!!" When my friend, my advocate left, the house Supervisor, Sharon, screamed at me causing me very high anxiety! The way I was spoken to (screamed at), is the textbook definition of emotional abuse. I was gaslit as well, with my words being twisted into things I did NOT state. The ER caused me more anxiety than I originally had when I walked in. ER staff is all outsourced, and a corporation has bought CMH since I was treated as a child. In the early 2000s, I recieved the care I deserve.

The service with the billing department has been absolutely awful. I started getting invoices for seeking prenatal care through the hospital and clinic. It started with having close to $900 in owed bills to the hospital to which I was put on a payment plan for. The person working told me I could pay what I wanted so I selected a certain amount. After about 57 missed calls over the period of a week, they informed me that the information they gave me was incorrect and the minimum payment would actually be higher. Okay no problem…. Then they continually kept calling me (their number shows up as spam btw) to tell me the information they gave me was wrong AGAIN. And that the amount would be even higher because my bill was under $1000. The original amount they told me I could pay was around $32 and this new amount was over $120. I was so over it at this point I told them to take me off the payment plan and I would just pay out of pocket. I was then informed that as long as I paid the invoices off in under 6 months from the date of service, that it would not go to collections. Well wouldn’t you know it, I log into pay bills and the information they gave me was wrong AGAIN. Now I am informed it’s 90 days from the date of service so my amount has now been sent to collections. If I had been told even one ounce of accurate information I would have just paid all of this off from the very beginning. Not a single employee helped me nor told me accurate information. Also, their website for bill pay doesn’t work so I had to continually call in to pay. Also, the notes they had in the systems didn’t mention any of this and why would it? Why be held accountable for your own actions. GO ANYWHERE ELSE unless you want to pay horribly inflated prices and then get dragged around by people who don’t know how to do their job.

My twin sister was brought to the CMH by ambulance the morning after Christmas 2024. She was vomiting, sweating profusely, and experiencing severe chest pain. An ambulance had to transport her to the Lawrenceville hospital for a cardio test because their equipment was not working. She was then transported back to the CMH ER. The staff drew blood and performed various tests. After many hours the ER doctor (Doctor Ali was the name on the white board) stepped into her room and told her all the labs came back fine. He said all of her cardio tests came back normal. He said "I don't know what to tell you. Maybe you pulled a muscle"! He treated her like she was seeking pain medicine. If he was to review her history, he would note that she did not take any form of pain pill. After 9 hours the nurse realized that Frankie was dehydrated from sweating and vomiting and asked the doctor if she can start an IV. It took 6 sticks with needles and 3 different staff members to insert the IV. This was most likely due to dehydration! This entire time Frankie was still in severe pain and perspiring profusely. They administered various pain drugs over a 15 hour period. The doctor entered the room after approximately another 5 hours and said he would talk to the general surgeon about doing an upper and possibly lower GI because her heart was fine. Thankfully Dr. Riley did not wish to do this and suggested they go ahead and send her to Carle Clinic (the nurses had informed us that all the other closer hospitals were full or would not accept her as a patient. We were told that it would be another several hours before transport would be available because they had recently transported another patient to Carle and did not have any other transport available. Holy crap! Do they only have one transport vehicle for the hospital??? After 16 hours in the hospital ER, Frankie was transported to Carle Clinic and immediately seen by a cardiologist. He asked what hospital she was sent from and what they stated the test results showed. After telling him we were told all was normal, He said that the results were not normal and she had experienced a heart attack. Thankfully Frankie is home and recovered but has to have cardio therapy 3 days a week and remain on heart medication. Does this sound like a pulled muscle??? I'm in agreement with many other reviews for this hospital's ER. I would not even take a pet to CMH! Thank God for Carle Clinic and their care. I am blessed everyday with knowing my twin is on the mend! I have noted that the replies to many of the negative reviews for this hospital have very little variances. Does a robot reply to the reviews or an actual human? Are the reviews read by anyone that oversees the performance of the ER doctors or just an office staff member? It is suggested to call the hospital switchboard operator with any complaints. I have very little faith that any of these reviews are taken seriously despite the robot/human replies.

My daughter was in the emergency room for 16 hrs in horrible pain Dr told her that everything came back fine so he didn't know what was wrong maybe a pulled muscle. She's having an A- typical heart attack! Was in there 9 hrs before they put her on maintenence IV & only because they couldn't get any veins because she was so dehydrated, because she'd been vomitingall night & still having dry heavs & it was the nurse that asked if she could do that! The Dr was completely useless. After 16 hrs she was transported to Carle Clinic. She was having a heart attack & all the tests they said were fine were just the opposite! She's going to be fine thank God but it could have been a horrible outcome due to their ineptenc. The 2 nurses were good but they could only do so much. They were going to keep her & do an upper GI but when they talked to Crawfords surgeon he said no send her to Carle thank God for that or the outcome could have been very bad! Needless to say I wouldn't take my dog to this band aid station! I'd give Crawford Memorial a 0 if that was an option ! This was on Dec. 26 2024
