No homecare agency comes close to Ebenezar's excellent standard of care. Grandma's first homecare agency of 9.5 years recently experienced staff shortages resulting being assigned a second agency that too was short staffed. Consequently, I searched Google and discovered hidden gem, Ebenezar homecare agency who within an hour of the inquiry, responded to present to grandma's home to inquire how they could be of assistance. What sets Ebenezar apart from the rest is; 1. Expertise: Staff with diverse backgrounds including social work (past Agency on Aging, Care Manager) thus expertise to assess health, cognitive; functional needs to help seniors live safely and independently. To ensure service delivery, to monitor care effectiveness, crisis intervention and protective services. As stated above the prior 2 agencies had staff shortages. Consequently, the second agency sent an aide who was completing application forms while already on the job. The aide disclosed an active court case & court order she was in the midst of resolving. A safety concern to the extent grandma requested to be assigned Ebenezar who during the above stated home visit stated, Ebenezar does due diligence to conduct thorough pre-employment background checks. Such diligence one ordinarily takes for granted until confronted the predicament the second agency placed grandma to send an aide with troubling, serious, active court cases. It's not until confronted safety risk, that we gained appreciation for Ebenezar's due diligence not to cut corners to send aides that haven't completed the application process. Indeed we appreciated that Ebenezar doesn't compromise the safety of our vulnerable populations 2. Compassion: It's understood, post pandemic medical & non-medical homecare is experiencing significant staff shortages. Still, the reality of the first agency having staff shortages, thus necessitating a second agency which regretably didn't vet the aide thus posing a safety risk, indeed contributed significant distress which when expressed to Ebenezar they promptly responded to within an hour perform a home visit to assess the potential new clients needs. Thus demonstrating not only social work expertise advocacy, crisis response but also compassion to go the extra mile to promptly respond to vulnerable populations expressing social stressors such compassion which sets Ebenezar apart. To really paint the picture of Ebenezar... 3. Kindness & Humility: On 12/26/25 the Northeast experienced a massive winter storm with heavy snowfall during which grandma expressed concern she'd struggle to get help shoveling the snow. To my utmost shock, Ebenezar offered to shovel grandma's property, such is beyond their scope, so we kindly declined. Still their kind offer speaks volumes as to Ebenezar's identity as a kind agency that doesn't just pay lip service to looking out for our vulnerable populations. Also, grandma loves & appreciates the coffee mug (see photos) Ebenezar kindly giffed her during the initial home visit, what a thoughtful gesture, thank you. In sum, having caregivers who are no show, who haven't been vetted and having back to back agency transitions is stressful. Indeed, the third time's a charm!!! On grandma's behalf, no words can adequately express our deepest gratitude to Ebenezar's discerning, high caliber team for providing the consistent, quality homecare that helps our beloved grandma live safely & independently.
