My husband was approved for 5 PT and 5 OT visits. We received 4 PT and 3 OT visits. We received no notice when scheduled appointments would not be made. Found this referral to be disappointing.

Told us they didn't accept our insurance, but we are in network so they are obligated to acceot it. Then says they don't have the staffing. Took 3 weeks to get thru these discussions to find out they cannot provide the service. Every discussion was initiated by me, never received a single call after the Dr referred us to them.

*** 9/28/24 update - I was promised a follow up call on 9/17/24 to discuss issues and newer issues and they never called. SHOCKER. I called compliance a few times to add to my complaint. They told me to wait until 9/17 when they were scheduled to call me. This came from the "compliance" dept that commented on this review. The compliance dept isn't complying. So, Since 9/3/24 (today is 9/28/24), we had 3 nurse visits, 2 PT and 1 OT. PT was only about 15 min - and never addressed going upstairs to LO bedroom. It was toe lifts at the counter, walked for about 3 min and then back to chair - for 2 leg exercises. Nothing to help build strength or confidence. It was a complete waste and my LO really regressed. We contacted Riverview Rehab and Fitness - and they will oversee the rest as Compassus/Ascension at home is incompetent. The ONLY good thing about it was Tracie, the nurse. She's sweet. The lack of communication and scheduling is a joke from this corporation. Suburban Home health, Franciscan, ANYTHING is better than Compassus (Ascension). RUN AWAY! ** update - I did email the company as responder suggested. 9/10/24. Let's see how long this takes and what the outcome is. CHOOSE OTHER HOME HEALTH CARE!!! Ascension failed. Loved one (LO) improved enough to go home from St.V Heart Center Carmel and skip rehab facility on Sept 3. Ascension at Home was to send a daily nurse and therapist home to continue LO's care. We've been home a week, no nurse, no therapist, and LO is not doing as well. HORRIBLE! No follow thru, no communication, NO SCHEDULING! It took 4 days just to get his "welcome call" and then told we'd be contacted by scheduling. It's been 4 days from the "welcome call". He could have gone to rehab for a week and been much better by now! I have NO faith in Ascension at Home. It's Sept 10 and STILL no nurse or therapy- and they haven't called to schedule!

This company is trash! If you can utilize another option, I suggest that you very well do so, because this organization will allow you to rest in your own soil, if you yourself, or have someone bring your issues to the attention of the scheduler that you're in need of care. Then you still may not receive someone to come out to care for your needs. This company needs a 0, or somewhere in the negative range. If it wasn't a special nurse that they're fortunate to have, I would have seeked home care from another company with a hire rating, and better reviews. PATHETIC!

I normally do not like to write reviews, but felt this was warranted for future patients considering coming to St. Vincent. My Mom has been with St. Vincent Home Health for several years. It was fine until 2020. Then, when our LPN and Nurse quit it went all downhill. My sweet Mom is bedridden and requires nurse and Aides assistance with her care. On January 31, 2022, our Aide came to me to advise she was not on the schedule for the rest of the week and was being discharged. My blood pressure went to the roof. St. Vincent did not discuss the discharge with me prior to the above date. I contacted them to discuss why my Mom is being discharged and was advised they cannot give the care 3 times per week and should go to Palliative care since they offer more. Little did they know Palliative does not offer Nurses or Aides. Palliative just manage medication. Then, they said my Mom's condition was not improving. Well, you stopped physical therapy a long time ago. My Mom is in bed due to being in bed too long and not for an illness. I then asked what happened if I just wanted to stay. I was advised that they could only do one day for Nurse and Aide. A referral was sent to St. Vincent for that amount of time since one day is better than none. Now, they are saying they have no one for the NORTHWEST side. This is an interesting stating since all the nurses who have cared for my Mom say they are all over the place. My Mom has been crying for the way she has be treated by St. Vincent. They discharged her without her having new help. Right now, she has no one and will have to go to ER if something happens. I don't understand why St. Vincent could not waited until we located another agency. IF WE LOCATE ONE. This is too much stress on my Mom who just lost her husband for 62 years. STRESS CAN KILL YOU!!! I don't want this to happen to anyone else which is why I am telling my story. I am my Mom's only caregiver and work full time. Now, I am the Nurse and the Aide with very little medical supplies that I will have to now purchase myself. This extra stress came at the wrong time when I am still mourning my DAD.
