My mother is approaching her 3 year anniversary at The Rose and is happier now than she has been in a very long time. She has made some of the best friends she could have ever asked for and she has stated numerous times how good the food has been. Of course it's not always perfect, but that's everywhere. The only reason I deducted one star is due to the heating situation. Every winter, without fail, the boiler goes out and the residents are without heat for an extended period of time. Sometimes several days. They're also told they cannot use space heaters due to them being fire hazards, but when it's 10 degrees outside (or colder) and they're without heat, what are they supposed to do? There must be better options for this situation. Other than that, I'm so glad my mom is here and so is she.

I am starting my 14th year at the Rose. The staff, fantastic. The meals are great, hit &miss once in a while, but I would say good. We have a lot of activities. If you want to join in it is up to you. Robyn Haynes is the administrator, does a fantastic job. Amber is our administrator over nursing, lovely person. This is a place for your Mom & Dad. We do act as family. I know that security in at the Rose, is up to date. I feel safe.here. I just thought I would put my two cents in.

This place & owner are a joke. The only good thing about it was a few choice employees, otherwise awful. Both of my parents lived here (not together they are divorced) and I am so glad that neither of them live there anymore. The owner, Greg, who seems to want to remain as anonymous as possible since there's no contact information to be found about his company, is a greedy uncaring owner. A couple years ago when SS gave an unprecedented 8% COLA increase (which is desperately needed for the elderly) he went ahead and raised the rent 8%. Can't keep office staff, likely because the owner is a nightmare. Frequently had the water shut off for hours at a time with no explanation. The door buzzer (which is how a guest reaches you to get into the building) for my mom's unit didn't work for about 8 months despite repeated requests to fix it. Work orders go months without being addressed. You can't opt out of paying for at least one meal a day, and yet the food is so subpar that it should be criminal to make anyone pay for it. Owner has no interest in making this a nice place to live. Ask him about charging a resident out of pocket for damages done to the apartment that were caused by a contractor he hired. But instead of going after the contractor he went after his elderly tenant on a fixed income to pay for damages that had nothing to do with them or anything they did. Municipal Housing & CB code enforcement should be making surprise visits more often so they can see how this place is actually running. You should wonder why they have 6 signs in the yard advertising 'for lease' when all the other affordable housing in town is full with a waitlist. At least half the apartments are empty. I believe in karma but I don't believe you should let anyone you love live here. After a response from Greg I am updating my review. Apparently he doesn't remember meeting me face to face twice & thinks I'm being slanderous for telling the truth about how things are at this facility. I stand by my review & would not recommend The Rose to anyone.

Reluctantly I moved into The Rose and reluctantly I will ever leave. I have been here 9 months and I feel as pampered as I ever have on any cruise vacation. There are too many positives to list but the most obvious are the smiles you notice when visiting and the friendly atmosphere we enjoy. Don’t hesitate to check out The Rose.

I am very happy here at The Rose. Only complaint is that the food is awful. Really awful! I cook for myself in my own apartment. Shouldn't have to pay for burnt, nasty food. Otherwise, I enjoy living here very much.
