The Unity Point nurses that have been to our home have been very kind and caring. My husband has frequent hospitalizations and we request them upon discharge. PT and OT are also the best at getting him back to his baseline. I appreciate all of their assistance and recommend them highly.

If I could give this place a “0 stars”, I would. They are a SCAM. They charged my insurance company $876 for replacement supplies for my CPAP: humidifier container, mask, tubing, headgear, 6 filters, and 6 nose pieces. 6 nose pieces were $390?!?!? 6 little fabric filters the size of a gum wrapper were $60?!?!? They loaded me up with supplies because I had not gone to them for a few years and they knew the insurance company would pay whatever they charged. These supplies are less than half that cost elsewhere. This place is EXACTLY what is wrong with the healthcare and insurance industry. They mark up everything, then get an “adjustment” from the insurance company, and then the consumer pays the rest. Legalized scam. And then to top it off, the nose pieces I received were the wrong ones! It took me 3 phone calls and 3 weeks to get the replacement ones. The more these companies do this, the higher the cost of healthcare for all of us. The medical industry and the insurance companies are in cahoots against the consumer. Do yourself a favor, look online for smaller medical supply companies and buy your supplies there.

My daughter gets her feeding tube supplies from here. For two years now there has never been a single problem. The delivery people are so nice as are all the people we tal k to there.

My infant son was born 10 weeks early and had some health complications. We were referred to UP after the first company I reached out to stated they can't provide pediatric ostomy supplies. UP was able to work with the doctor/insurance to fulfill the order - at least in part. We've received 2 different shipments of a months worth of supplies, and each month was slightly different. Upon review of my prescription I saw that some items were filled and some weren't, and some items were substituted with different brands. These substitutions were not required by insurance. Later when I needed a specialty formula they refused to help. Insurance covers the formula, the doctor sent over the prescription, but UP had to review to see if it would be profitable for them to fill the order. After a week of review they determined it was not going to make them enough money, so they wouldn't do it. Feeding a child shouldn't be a matter of profit. On top of that, if they had advised they could get it and there would be an out of pocket expense, we may have gone ahead anyway just to ensure the baby is fed (it's not a formula we can buy in a store anywhere). I have since found a DME that can/will provide the formula. They're also going to be providing the ostomy supplies. There's no reason for UP to get any profit from me/my son. Clearly all they understand is the bottom line. That's a horrible attitude for a company in the medical business.

After receiving my daughter's feeding tube supplies with only minor issues for a couple of years, I was annoyed, but didn't think much of it, when Unity Point at Home requested my daughter's most recent medical notes from her physician. I was shocked, however, when I was informed days later that UP had done their own review of her of medical necessity and would not fill our order without me agreeing to pay for her supplies privately. I was told that insurance would no longer pay for the requested supplies. When I requested that UP contact our insurance for clarification, my request was declined. When I then called our insurance company myself, I was informed that insurance had not requested a review of medical necessity and that they had no record of any contact from UP. With help from our doctor's office, we were were able to switch my daughter's prescription to a new DME company who billed insurance without issue and provided the requested supplies in a very timely manner. After working working with the second DME company and seeing how wonderful good customer service CAN be, I am disappointed we didn't leave Unity Point long ago.
