I recently moved to Atchison and chose to receive all my care at Amberwell for me and my baby on the way. So far, I have received maternal primary care, done labs, been in the ER, switched to their pharmacy, and utilized the infusion services Amberwell offers and I have nothing negative to say about my care. Every doctor, nurse, and staff member I have interacted with have been extremely kind and have gone above & beyond to help me. The staff at Amberwell even assisted me in addressing some insurance issues as well. Overall, thus far I am extremely grateful for all the care I’ve received at Amberwell and they really treat you like family which is so important when you are going through difficult or stressful times with your health.

I cannot express enough gratitude for the incredible care I received during my labor and delivery, thanks to Dr. Darland and the staff in the labor and delivery/maternity ward. From the moment I walked in for my first prenatal appointment at Amberwell Atchinson I felt completely supported, heard, and cared for. Dr. Darland was not only incredibly skilled but also incredibly kind, always taking the time to explain everything and answer all my questions, no matter how small. Him and his staff made sure I felt empowered and in control, offering advice and guidance while respecting my birth plan. Throughout the entire birthing process, everyone maintained a calm and reassuring presence, which helped ease my anxiety. I truly felt like I was in the best hands possible. They all had a high level of care, warmth, and expertise that made the experience so memorable and positive. I would like to specifically recognize RN Marissa and the director Jane for their support during labor and postpartum. I will forever be thankful for the unwavering support during such a transformative moment in my life. I truly couldn't have asked for a better birthing experience!

My father is in an extreme amount of pain and nobody would answer the phone for about 20mins just to get someone on the phone. Just got someone on the phone just for every Nurse to be "unavailable" and his primary care Dr. to also be unavailable. I do not recommend this "hospital" if you have any problems.

I had a medical issue several months ago and had to make several emergency room visits before working through the issue with my primary care provider, and Amberwell’s Emergency Services were outstanding. The staff are caring and thoughtful. I actually visited two other emergency rooms at the time and Amberwell was the only one to send me a paper bill with itemized expenses that made sense. This health system as a whole is building a wonderful reputation in the Northeast Kansas region. I work in the Leavenworth area and Amberwell’s outpatient services are filling in where other medical providers have left. I speak to many people in Leavenworth who come to Atchison to seek out emergency care and urgent care because they feel more comfortable here.

Overall ive had good experiences here with the staff and doctors. They have always been very polite and patient. i currently have my 5th child here now who was just born yesterday and i want to say that they did an excellent job with the birth and delivery and getting things prepared. ive been to hospitals that i have had to literally force them to let us leave before and im thankful to say that amberwell in Atchison has never made me feel uncomfortable in anyway so a huge thank you to everyone working here.
