One word communication!!!!! Didn’t get any sort of plan or updates other than her vital signs twice in the six weeks my mom was seen. Yet, they gave a lot of information to her doctors office that we should have been notified of. We did not choose this provider they were given to us after my mother’s discharge from the hospital. Look elsewhere. It felt like the last few weeks it was only about getting paid. Giving information to the doctors office to warrant continued visits. With us being left in the dark. Anytime I called I was given vague information that did not lead me to be concerned. We have canceled their services and will look elsewhere.

Workers vs Admininstration- The home health care workers were fine, I can't complain because they did their best with my mom with dementia. Of course they are short-staffed and overworked. They weren't perfect, but they care about their patients. My big problem is with administration. The people in the office didn't return phone calls or keep me updated about her care and concerns. I never knew what was going on and felt like they did not care enough to return calls or give me any official updates. A couple of weeks ago, they just stopped coming. No official contact or communication from the office. And no returned phone calls.

I have been getting services with Angels Care Home Health for almost 2 months. My nurse Roc (RN) comes once a week to check on me. She does an assessment of how I am feeling at the time of her visit & also an assessment of how I have been feeling since our previous visit, checks my vitals, she will & has called my primary doctor to report an out of the ordinary symptom I may be having, she educates me about my illnesses & brings me information to read on my illnesses. I feel very comfortable voicing my concerns & talking with her knowing she will have good feedback for me & if she isn't able to answer at that time, she looks into it & has an answer for me at our next visit. She doesn't rush our visit which is really nice. She is very caring. The staff at Angels who I have contact with, either in person or over the phone have been very friendly & helpful. They listen & have gone out of their way to make sure my needs are met. I can honestly say & feel that my over all health is important to them & want the very best for me. I strongly recommend Angels Care Home Health to anyone who is interested or who may have a family member who may benefit from having home health services.

I signed my mom up with Angels at the recommendation of her doctor in order to monitor her INR level, oxygen, as well as dementia and other issues. The nurses appear to be overwhelmed as they often wouldn’t even show up on the day they were supposed to, much less the scheduled time. Sometimes a substitute nurse came from Manhattan. One time a nurse dropped a blood testing needle and our caregiver picked it up (not knowing what it was) and was stuck with the needle. Angels says they’re available 24/7 but nobody from Angels returned the call about what that needle was until the second day…meanwhile our caregiver was panicked thinking that she’d been exposed to HIV, hepatitis, or worse. There was little communication with me (as daughter and POA) and ultimately, they had the caregiver on duty sign her discharge papers without even contacting me. She was apparently discharged over a week ago and as I write this I’m waiting for a response from them after leaving two messages. There was no care plan left with us as to how she’s supposed to get her INR tested (she’s pretty much homebound), oxygen monitored, etc.
