Since May 6, 2016 our family has been blessed with the care, compassion, and kindness of Mrs. Barbara Buckner through Lagniappe Home Care. From the very beginning, she has been more than just a Certified Nursing Assistant to us, She’s been family. Her gentle spirit, patience, and loving heart has brought so much comfort and joy to my 91 year old Mom. There’s never a day my mom isn’t happy to see her, as she looks forward to her baths and chats. Their bond is something truly special. Many may not realize the amount of patience and intellect it takes to properly care for the elderly. Barbara's compassion is unmatched and her gentleness speaks volumes. She's the prime example of what care should look like as a healthcare professional. As she prepares to retire at the end of the year, our hearts are filled with both gratitude and sadness. We are so thankful for the countless ways she’s touched our lives through laughter, encouragement, and her unwavering dedication to the care of my Mom. I use the reference (We) because Barbara not only cared for my Mom, but she embraced the entire family. And, that's important to be able navigate beyond attending to a patient’s adult daily living needs. Building a bond with the family is just as important. Families are often the bridge between the CNA and the patient’s emotional and personal well-being. We want to sincerely thank Lagniappe Home Care for seeing the best in Barbara and sharing her with us 9 wonderful years. Because of the genuine care and commitment, my Mom is not just doing well, she's thriving. I want to thank everyone that helped my brother David R. after he had a stroke. Everyone was so helpful and patient with him and my Mom. My brother was only 41, if it weren't for Lagniappe helping him relearn how to walk and keep on pushing him to use his hand he wouldn't have gotten as far as he did so fast.He was able to move back into his own place. My brother passed away from a series of other strokes but I will recommend Lagniappe to anyone needing home healthcare. They really do care about their patients.
