I would strongly advise anybody that truly cares about their loved ones to use another hospice company. We contracted with Vital Care Hospice and for 3 weeks they were non-responsive and uncaring, especially on the weekends or over the holidays. Their typical response when we called the Hotline was either we don't do that or a nurse will call you and schedule a visit (which never happened). After 3 weeks we fired Vital and brought on another hospice company and they were wonderful. Caring, sympathetic and were there to help my Dad go home(Heaven). The second hospice company even advised us to report Vital Care Hospice for neglect. I am sadden that my father had to go through this in his last days. The only reason I am giving them 1 star is because the gentleman that signed us up was wonderful. He answered every call and I believe truly tried to help.

This company was horrible. Their wonderful worker took her time getting me on service after meeting with my doctor several times. My doctors decided from my diagnosis & decline that hospice was a better fit for me. I got on with this company. Their liason did a wonderful job explaining services to me & letting me know what to expect. She also provided me with a lot of paper education. Once I started service things took a turn. The nurse Kenyatta was very unconcerned about my condition and what I needed. She barely came to my visits. She refused to order my medicines & supplies. She didn’t do my wound care in 3 weeks. She also wore really longgggg nails, so many bracelets & a hell of a lot of perfume. She put in more work dressing for the job. I complained several times. Absolutely nothing was done about my concerns. She also solicited for another company while working for this company. She was trying to get me on service with a home health company she was also employed with because she didn’t think I was hospice appropriate. I disagreed with her letting her know otherwise my doctor wouldn’t have gave the order for me to start service. She went as far as telling me I was committing Medicaid fraud & that I would be going to jail. She also stated I would have to pay Medicaid back from the visits I was receiving from hospice. She was very ugly & rude. She went on a rant during our visit about the liason who got me on service stating the liason had a reputation of getting none hospice appropriate patients on service. However I couldn’t believe that being that it’s ultimately the doctors decision to give the order for service. The liason was one of the nicest I met working for the company along with my cna.Later this company sent out some supervisors who didn’t help the situation at all. Later found out the nice little liason was fired. Hospice should be about being comfortable during your last days. You won’t be comfortable here. I couldn’t even get the help I needed from the social worker. I had no phone or food in my home. The social worker gave me a # to call for resources. Again how was I supposed to call for resources with no phone? Anyways after discharging from this horrible place I stumbled across the nice liason card & gave her a call. She put me in touch with some nice people who now takes great care of me.
