Well I arrived at the ER around 7:30 this evening and unfortunately I am still here at 2:43 am. I have been sitting and waiting on a doctor to lmk my results since 11:22 pm. My original nurse Gabrielle was absolutely amazing!! Most of the staff were very nice but I seen a lot of unprofessionalism. The conversations that were had and even overheard them speaking about other patients freely and loudly at the desk. They were using loud profanity and clowning around when there were many sick ppl here. I think this will be the last time my family and I will be coming here.

I don't want to get into the details but about a month ago I had to go to the ER. They were very quick to admit me but once I was taken to the back things changed quickly. Let just say they were very unprofessional and you could tell that they just didn't want to be there and that we were a burden on them. Upon leaving the ER, I took the weekend to think about the experience and decided to file a formal complaint. This something I rarely do but in this case I felt it was warranted. After writing the letter and filing the complaint I received an email from the hospital stating that they would look into the matter and that I would receive a response within 30 days. Well here we are now roughly 45 days later. So today I placed a call into the hospital and I was just passed around from person to person even after I provided them with a name of the employee that originally responded to me! It was ridiculous and is why I am now leaving a public comment. Overall, if you can help yourself be heading to another hospital I would highly recommend traveling elsewhere. Thanks!

I spent a week here after having hip surgery. The doctors and nurses were amazing!! Also the rehabilitation staff was A+ I have lived in Houston my entire life until 6 months ago when I moved to Lake Charles. I am 60 years old and have been hospitalized quite often in my lifetime, that said the care at Lake Charles Memorial was on the same level as the medical center in Houston !! Keep up the good work and thank you to the staff !!

I’m still having back flashes of my ER visit from a wreck a couple years ago. I got into a drinking and driving accident with my fiance. He flew out of the window and was separately treated and brought in. I was the driver.. and I lied to the paramedics about what happened. I told them I thought it was a deer. I wasn’t paying attention because we were arguing, and because of that ended up off the road. The car flipped in a ditch a bunch of times, I hit my head on the sunroof. I had a brain bleed, but did not know at the time. (Mind you I don’t even think about that part of the wreck during these back flashes). Matter of fact, I barely have any feeling towards the wreck itself. It’s what happened when I was pushed into the ER that’ll stick with me forever. They pushed me into the big ER room with curtains. It wasn’t a single room. They left me in this room fully clothed, sitting up, and talking g to some nurse beside me(I had no idea I was on suicide watch). Me and this woman was laughing and having a good time because I literally thought I was just waiting on a doctor to look at my brusies.i felt fine. So all of a sudden at least five women come in and start forcing me down, cutting my clothes off. Start telling me I’m sorry this was supposed to be done alrdy as they rushed it, and cut all of my clothes off. Mind you I’m a tomboy and barely show my knees or elbows so can u imagine. Okay, so I’m laying there calming back down. I was very understanding. Well as I’m laying there waiting on the doctor he walks in and leaves the door wide open. I immediately start saying no close the door pls!! His eyes got wide and he stared at me. It took a minute for him to close the door. He never apologized. He threatened to sedate me without even knowing my injuries or that I literally had a brain bleed. I begged them not to let him touch me, I felt like I was going to be raped. All I see is his eyes and him pulling that needle out when I lay my head down to sleep. When I’m out with my family I see him holding that needle making eye contact, pointing his finger at me threatening to sedate me. Even after asking for another doctor the women coerced me into allowing him back in the room to check my brusies. It sickens me thinking he was allowed to touch me. It sickens me that these are even human beings, its sickens me that you are still treating people today as though they are nothing. All of you at this hospital sicken me. If it was up to me I’d be karma, but that’s too easy for you. For all of you. I’ll let karma deal with each and every one of you individually. Nobody’s scared of you, nobody respects any of you. You have no one’s trust. You’re nothing. You’re all disgusting for the way you treat people. I said my peace.Good redince. That’s not the end. They had to send me to Saint Patrick’s for more tests. There the doctors were no better. I started my cycle in the midst of being transported and they offered no sanitary napkins. Left me in a room all night with a man that was taking pictures. I asked the nurses at the station for a female to sit with me. They dont care ur psych.. so I asked him to sit in front of me. There’s no cameras in these rooms. I had one see thru sheet and one backless gown on. No underware. No bra. Fresh head injury. I have IBS and started my cycle and was drinking the night before so I had to hold my bowls all night in fetal position. With a kneck brace on btw, because they did eventually run tests after hrs upon hrs..The next morning as soon as a female came on shift there were two doctors that came and checked on me. I believe neurologist and cardiologist maybe. Well they just stood there and stared at me. Didn’t ask not one question, no smile, no nod. Then walked out. Released me from psych and sent me home. These pple have no ethics. Just sue them. Don’t wait a year like I did to realize the memories won’t go away. Malpractice is real, and these hospitals are guilty of it everyday. Someone is being a victim of both these places right now. I am well aware of my rights and policies. I will be back.

We came to er at 3:23 in the afternoon. We were not allowed to stay in back because of overcrowding. My husband is 83 and had hit his head and knocked him to the ground possibly knocking him out. We arrived with him nasuated and bleeding. He was seen in the back for very brief bloodwork and sent back out to sit in a very cold waiting room. About 45 to 60 minutes later someone came with a wheelchair and took him for a cat scan and brought him back to the waiting room. The blood work appeared on his my chart. The cat scan did not. It is 9:51. A few minutes ago he started bleeding again they gave him a box of Kleenex. I asked for a blanket for him and was refused by the desk. I certainly hope that we are not being charged for er services because we are not getting any! We have not seen anyone from the back except for bloodwork and then the cat scan staff. He is sitting here with an open wound in a room full of germs. How long should an 83 yo sit in the er waiting for services? He has had 2 heart attacks and this is unacceptable. If the er was that overcrowded why not let people know so that they can be seen somewhere else? We could have driven to Houston, been seen, tests run, stitches and back home by now. Why is the medical care in Lake Charles so poor? And ultimately are we being charged as though we are receiving services?
