So far so bad, and we are only one day in with BILHAH. I would leave ) stars if I could. My husband is 88 years old, is bed bound, has Parkinson's Disease and Heart Failure among other medical conditions, and has recently had two strokes. I have never met such an indifferent and callous nurse like A, the intake nurse who came to our home yesterday. From the moment she walked in the door, she wanted to tell me everything they would NOT do to help, rather than tell me what they COULD do to help. She was unfriendly, showed no compassion, empathy, or reassurance. She had a defensive attitude during the entire intake, and kept pushing private care options that would bankrupt us, rather than explain how hospice would work. She showed a severe lack of understanding concerning the reason we were asking for hospice care, and spent two minutes with my husband (I timed it) to check his vitals. He tried to interact with her and she ignored him completely. I have notes filled with negatives regarding what they can't provide, and very little information about what they will do. I was told a nurse would come twice a week to take his vitals and spend five minutes with him. She did not talk about comfort care, address any concerns I might have, provide me with any forms I might need regarding end of life care, or the most important thing: How would they provide COMFORT to my sick and elderly husband. Her indifference was appalling and quite shocking to me. Why work in hospice care if you do not care about patients and their families? I have worked as a counselor for 25 years, and was expecting at the very least to meet a caring individual, but she definitely showed no sign that she cared. I felt we were an imposition on her day, and she couldn't leave fast enough. I intend to call BILHAH or change hospice providers if this is the face and first impression of this organization. Making the choice as a family to sign up for hospice care is hard enough id just the intake is this bad, I can't imagine what the care providers are like. Run away fast from this company! Do not use them for the loving care of your family member. Horrible experience. Update 1/3/26: After I left this review, a family member told me that BILHAH was a FOR PROFIT organization, and she had had better luck with NON-PROFIT organizations. I was able to find my poor sick husband a bed at the Kaplan Family Hospice House in Danvers, MA. BILHAH still made it difficult for me by not sending all of his records to Kaplan because they wanted me to meet the nurse he would have, telling me the intake person was not the person he would see. Kaplan Hospice worked very hard to get his records for us, but the wait from BILHAH was egregious and unnecessary. How can they treat dying people like this? It was traumatic, and added to my grief. The folks from The Kaplan Family Hospice House were excellent!! I highly recommend them if you are dealing with a situation similar to mine. My husband was in the most peaceful place I have ever been in, with such amazing care. I was able to spend the night with him, and be by his side right up until he passed on October 19th, 2025. He passed so peacefully in a beautiful location, with people who actually cared about both of us. Having been his caretake for so many years, I was able to just be his wife, hold his hands, and help him transition. If you need hospice care on the North Shore of Boston, I highly recommend the Kaplan Family Hospice House and services. I was also able to receive wonderful grief counseling at no charge from very qualified grief counselors at Kaplan. They were all remarkable, and I am so appreciative.

PT was supposed to do an at-home assessment a few days after my surgery. They did not come for two weeks. They were a nightmare to communicate with about scheduling. They were often unresponsive to voicemails and texts. My VNA let me know they were on the schedule on multiple occasions only to find out they’d been rescheduled. I wish they had been more helpful. I wasn’t moving around much those first few weeks of recovery while I patiently waited for my assessment, which was not ideal as I have a history of blood clots. Save a few sponge baths, I was unable to bathe until my PT assessment. My PT suggested I get a shower chair but I was not given any tips for how to get into the shower. I eventually ended up asking my surgeon for instructions at my first follow-up appointment. When I did finally get assigned a PT, I was fairly mobile and didn’t really need them. I was given a few at-home exercises and an exercise goal. One week later I had achieved my goal. Thankfully my surgeon’s office gave me instructions for getting up and down the three flights of stairs in my home.

If I could give zero stars I would. Unprofessional, gives false information to their patients. My mom had a feeding tube placed with no issues swallowing at all and they told her she couldn’t eat chicken or steak or anything besides soft foods. Which was a lie n she should’ve been eating that the whole time cause she needed to gain weight n needed the protein. Called multiple times for troubleshooting with the feeding tube when it clogged and they said try flushing it n if that doesn’t work you need to call the manufacturer, not offering to physically come and help at all. Nurse comes to my mom’s house for 5 mins to take vital signs n leaves. What a joke, I could go on and on. Don’t even bother with their services. It will just set you back.

I feel most people only leave reviews if they have not had a good experience. My family had a wonderful experience. We just lost my Mom a week ago. I can't say enough good things about BILH hospice. They were ALWAYS there for us. Always supporting us. My mother's nurses were fantastic. We had regular visits with a chaplain. The social worker Jenn was constantly in touch and came for visits always offering support. Our nurse Rose that we had for 2 months before my Mom passed was a gift. They went above and beyond for us and I am forever grateful ❤️

I recently had physical therapy for a knee replacement and I wanted to let your company know that Michele Devlin was my physical therapist for the past ten days or so and I was very happy with her professionalism in her services. She was always on time and explained all the exercises and how to do them the correct way. I would highly recommend her services and your company to anyone that needed them in the future. Thank you.
