I recently had the pleasure of meeting with Melynda of Salmon Hospice & VNA.. She was very informative and shared her knowledge of hospice and home health in general as well as the specific services that Salmon provides. I was impressed with the focus on person centered care, consistent communication and the array of services available. Salmon has a great reputation in the field of senior care and I look forward to doing business with them in the future.

Just a heads up to all seeking their services. I work with them and it hasn’t been the best, I’d say 7/10 nurse are ok, but we had a horrific experience with one of our patients on hospice. I recently tried to send them referrals for a hospice patient and a nurse called me (that we work closely with) and reported that they were not able to fulfill our hospice needs, they could not even come in and do a referral as they are so low staffed right now. They are actually referring out to other hospice agencies right now as everyone from the director down has left so they are scrambling for nurses and aides but they take many weeks to train. Maybe in the fall it will be better but stay far away from them right now, they do not have their act together

Ellen RN and Harriet PT were kind, caring, and encouraging when needed. I had complicated medical issues and received great care from my home care team. Harriet had me walking outside when I was petrified to do so. Ellen was always there when needed and dealt with family members is a calm reassuring manner. They are truly a great asset to the medical profession.

I love this facility very much! My mom is adjusting and settling in nicely as well as she has made new friends. Having a roommate at first was definitely an adjustment, but her roommate and her have now become friendly which makes me so happy.

Security for in and out visitors is great. From my understanding P.T. and O.T. are excellent. The greeters at the entrance are very friendly and helpful. It’s too bad that the same can’t be said about the rest. Staff is slow to answer calls, a patient was left with diarrhea/incontinence for several hours. My family member has been there for a week and the bottom sheet of the bed has not been changed, I believe that’s more important than the top sheet. Doctors and staff are pretty abrupt/not friendly when answering the patient. I was asked (Before even making it to my family member) by a patient if I could stand outside his bathroom so he could use it. He stated that the nurse was right next to him just prior to my passing by but that the nurse just left him there instead of assisting him. I was also informed that although the food is good it’s always cold. Very sad visitation.
