This review is about a phlebotomist named Victoria who was absolutely fantastic !! My Mom is 93 years old and has refused to get her blood drawn for the past two years as she has had horrible experiences due to various professionals having to insert needles multiple times. Her veins are prominent so I can only assume that they roll but she has become nauseous and sick to her stomach several times in the past thus refusing any more blood draws. The people somewhat "bull rushed" her and used what seemed to be unnecessary thick needles and many times had to "go get someone else" which lead me to believe they were a bit inexperienced when it came to drawing from elderly folks. Enter Victoria (I did not get a last name but I truly hope her leadership recognizes her by first name). She called to book a time and we discussed the challenge and Victoria's discussion allowed us to feel very comfortable with her. She drew out the back story through conversation so that she understood the issue and shared that she could bring the necessary equipment to facilitate a good experience. Upon entering the house, her demeanor was perfect as she took the time to make sure my mom was comfortable with her and the procedure. The whole experience was EXCELLENT as my mom hardly felt a pinch and was shocked at how easy the draw was. In short, Victoria is tremendous at what she does and has a wonderful way about her starting with her approach all the way to her skill as a phlebotomist! We will be requesting her for all future blood draws.., I only with she were an accountant and did taxes!!

Love South Shore VNA. I was diagnosed with Multiple Myeloma cancer back in 2022 and unfortunately it came back again this year. I had them both times and they was fantastic. Very, caring and knowledgeable They go out of their way to help. I loved that I had the same PT person and nurse in 2022 and this year. I had to have more surgery now so I am looking forward to them coming back to my home.

Our family had the most wonderful experience with South Shore VNA! My mother Lydia received the highest quality of compassionate care from occupational therapist Shannon Stone and her physical therapist. Shannon goes above and beyond in all areas- She was patient and overly competent and advocated on behalf of my mother to get her the help she needed. I cannot say enough great things about her and her team! If it was not for Shannon I would have lost it...her and my mom's physical therapist were my backbone during such a difficult time, and I would not have been able to pull through without them. All of the nurses were so kind and helpful and respond quickly during afterhours and even have on call over the weekends. God bless you all and thank you from the Wells family for your kindness and professionalism. We cannot thank you enough ❤️

I would actually give this place zero stars if that could be done. At a time that my father was in dire need of hospice services they dropped the ball entirely. His doctor called and made the referral the day before...the next day I called them to see when they would get to my father's home and they told me they did not have all the forms; which I knew she had sent and she confirmed it. A day later after many frantic calls and texts from me and other family members, his doctor called and let this hospice know how urgent it was, they finally got back to her and said "oh, we don't have the staffing to take on his case". So, his wonderful doctor had to scramble to find another agency on the day before he died which was a nightmare, but she fought hard on her day off to make it happen. They should have let her know immediately that they did not have the staffing and not doing that caused my father and my family great suffering that was absolutely unnecessary. As a health care provider myself I will be sure no one I know ever uses this agency. Loved ones who are dying need these services quickly and it is a time of crisis, not to be taken lightly which my family felt happened. Shame on them! Find another hospice agency for your loved one! Had surgery to fix a fractured hip on Christmas weekend 2017. Being a holiday weekend, I understood that there could be some delay in getting treatment at home for physical therapy. Upon my discharge from SS Hospital, I had requested they set up services through Cape Cod VNA. They have cared for family members of mine in the past and I have seen first hand how well they tend to the needs of their patients. The case worker at SSH said they did not recommend using Cape Cod. She was pushy in her recommendation of using SSVNA, and suggested that they were “more accessible”. My visiting nurse was excellent. She was prompt, and professional. I was told upon my release that I’d be seen for PT within a couple of days. This happened during a terrible cold spell, so I can imagine that they were overrun with people to treat. I did not expect that I would have to call DAILY to check the status on when someone would be out to see me. Every time I called, I was told they had placed me as high priority. Each representative I spoke to said that someone would get back to me with a time frame, but no one ever called...NOT ONCE!! I got my visiting nurse involved because even she was confused as to why no one had been out from PT. She contacted her superior to try and escalate the matter. At the time, I had been out of the hospital for four days. Even her efforts did not work. I commend her for going above and beyond. On the fifth day, I contacted SS VNA myself again, and was told that no one could get to me for another four days. Had I waited until then, that would have made a total of nine days without PT which is beyond unacceptable following hip surgery. I suggest you folks take a good look at your operation and make some immediate changes because this seems to be common issue. There is no reason why anyone should have to wait this long for treatment. It is shameful! I contacted cape cod VNA on the fifth day, and had an appointment scheduled on short notice within two days. So much for being “more accessible”, South Shore! Get your act together! The welfare of your patients depends on it!
