Care seems dependent on individual workers. Some are great. Weekend staff don't really want to be there and are often no where to be found. I know their jobs are not easy, but sometimes they don't have much empathy. It's an older building but they are building a new one. Honestly, we have moved our father. Much more attention where he is, cleaner too.

My mother-in-law lived here and was well cared for in the transitions she had to make before her death and now my aunt is here. Best accommodation of all retirement villages. Staff are lovely. The new independent living apartments are beautiful!

My husband and I came here four years ago and I am so happy to spend the last years of my life here. The residents are all delightful and there are tons of activities to fit everyone's interests. I'm healthier now than before I came - - physically, mentally, and emotionally due to a great activity director, incredible fitness trainer, and interesting, stimulating interaction with others. We have a new, upscale dining room with a top-of-the-line creative chef preparing gourmet personal meals for everyone. Staff listens to residents and cares about their needs. We often comment to each other that "we are so blessed by living here". Thank you Brio and Porter Hills.

I toured Porter Hills Village with Sandra recently and found it to be beautiful and quite impressive although I only saw the main building and town homes for independent living. Although I'm not in a position to make a change right now this is an option worth considering.

it's astounding how little the elderly are taken into account when Brio/Porter Hills makes decisions. They remodel. Do they choose colors that are calming or uplifting for the elderly? No. Do they pick colors that are easy to detect if you have vision issues, like so many of the elderly do? No. Do they buy the cheapest food ingredients and serve mediocre cafeteria style food? Yes. Do they offer continuance of care? Sort of. They used to offer 4 levels of care: independent, enhanced, and assisted, and nursing. They are getting rid of enhanced. That was independent care with ancillary support add-ons for quality of life. Now that enhanced care is going away.... Residents who used enhanced care are forced to either go down in care to independent living, or going up in care to assisted (which btw, gets them a shoebox room 1/3 the size of their independent rooms) and it's only $10k/mo! 🤮🤢 Despicable.
