I wish I could I could rate each aide from the Medical Team Livonia separately because there are some that are truly compassionate and caring of your love one. Others are there just for there for the job and have no personality or compassion at all. Things have improved some since my concerns have been voiced. It seems the director in corporate has no interest in hearing complaints or concerns because twice I have called and left messages…no one has ever returned my calls. I have resorted to a camera in my fathers room and review it often. My biggest concern is not only do I hear it from my father as well as other residents they do not always answer the button. What if they had fallen and were laying there bleeding and no one came for over an hour? Besides the camera a family member visits daily. The Hospice Medical Team is great. Dad’s nurse Ted, volunteer David, social worker Becky and Chaplin Rick are always there for him. The American House staff, they are separate of the Medical Team are very caring, loving and attentive to their residents and treat them as if they were a family member. My advice report things that make you unhappy do not be quiet. Things will not change if there is no communication.

I agree totally with the review given 4 weeks ago. The Medical Team at American House Milford is a total train wreck. I have tried and tried to use their services, but as the reviewer said below, they do what they want to do, when they want to do it. They can't seem to keep consistent staff on board and they lie to the resident's family about their care. I suspect the only reason they stay in business is because most families are away and don't check on their loved ones as I do on a daily basis. I've talked to staff, supervisors, and even the regional director. It continues to be just awful care.

Our mother received care from The Medical Team while at American House. The care was always excellent, but during her last few months they really went above and beyond. Vickie and Allysha and their teams were phenomenal. Everything was handled correctly and they were exceptional at keeping our family informed. Each time they saw her, they contacted us to explain her condition, medications they administered, and even the slightest changes. Not only were they extremely professional and expeditious, they were very caring people who formed relationships with our mother and family. We appreciated how personable, warm, and compassionate they were, taking time to talk and visit and making sure our mom was comfortable. She actually loved when they came to see her! You don’t always think of everything to ask or do when it’s a difficult time and we were able to rely on them so much. Knowing that she was in good hands was a huge comfort to our family. So, even though they were providing care to our mom, they were also caring for us.

One star is the lowest i can give to leave a review. The Medical Team is horrible, do not follow up on concerns and flat out lie about providing services they have billed for. My Mother is in American House in Hazel Park MI and I have called several times to ask for assistance from the Medical Team...Answers..."That's not my job" *hangup*, "I'm busy." *hangup*...and so on. I wouldn't trust them for any reason!!! As an update to this review, my Mother had a severe stroke and the Medical team were instructed NOT to bring meals to her room as she was a joke risk patient. The duty nurse hand wrote the instructions in Mom's records. That evening they brought her a grilled sandwich (AGAINST ORDERS) which she tried to take a bite of and began choking. If not for the fact that another caregiver was there she would have died. When I confronted the Medical Team duty nurse about the issue, she denied ever getting the information from me. I told her to get Mom's file and read it...she had NO excuse after reading her own notes. Also the Medical Team claims to provide Hospice care. That is a LIE and do not be fooled. Proper Hospice is 100% covered by insurance Medicare, etc.). What the Medical Team actually provided is pay per service Palliative care (out of pocket) and it is HORRIBLE service at best. Beware!
