Hospice is a joke. All they do is make money off of dying people and put the burden on families. They get paid $200/day per patient, whether they show up or not, and when they do show up, all they provide are meds and equipment, which is paid by insurance. No actual nursing help other than possibly 2 hours per week over 2 days.

We used Elara Hospice for 5 days in May 2023. The Nurses, Aids, Social Worker and Chaplain were wonderful and provided excellent service. However, the first line of communication to their service dropped the ball both times we had to call for assistance. I would hope that they will train these staff members and help them understand the importance of getting messages to the nurses and aids timely and accurately. Elara would then earn a 5 star rating.
