This was the worst emergency department experience I have ever had. We waited for hours in the waiting area while my mother was experiencing shortness of breath and chest pain. When we asked the nursing staff for help, we were scolded instead of assisted. My mother was left sitting in the waiting room despite having symptoms that could indicate a life-threatening condition. The lack of urgency, compassion, and basic patient care was shocking. It felt as though no one cared whether she lived or died. No patient—or family—should ever be treated this way. I’m writing this review from the waiting room, and we’re still waiting.

Normally a fast emergency room. There is a long wait but it’s a good emergency room. Someone of the doctors don’t admit patients even though they need to be. Almost all staff are friendly there are some providers that are not as nice as most providers. The security guards are extremely friendly and nice

The ER dr and nurses were amazing, but as soon as I was taken up to the floor for observation, the next day I continued to get delayed care, when someone has a migraine and they dont get their meds right away they suffer. I waited for 8 hr. For Dr. Rodrick Adams to let me have my meds. My migraine meds they do not have at this hospital they gave some which did not help and I said I have my meds, (given to the night nurse from my own bag) they took them and sent them to the pharmacy(fine) but when I kept asking for my meds the delay in care was so bad. And they only gave them to me as I discharged. 8 hr. Of suffering with a migraine. Dr Adams also had the nerve, when I told him I had an eating disorder, how I stop myself from gorging on Thanksgiving? Why would you even ask someone that. The care I got from this man was rude and no compassion what so ever. I will never be back there again.

Reading reviews shows that people either have a terrific or a horrible experience (other hospitals' reviews are the same). I want to chime in as someone who was very pleased with the care at Methodist. My husband was referred there from a Park Nicollet Urgent care to have his appendix removed. They got him in the same day, and I believe his surgeon had to come in just to do this. Everyone who talked to us was helpful and informative. Dr. Denes was the surgeon and he did a great job. He clearly cares about patients and about quality care. My husband had to stay overnight in observation due to high heart rate, and all the nurses/staff there were great as well.

The hospital's layout may pose challenges for first-time visitors, but subsequent visits to the Family Birth Center proved to be manageable. The care provided by doctors, nurses, and staff was exceptional. We would give the hospital a five-star rating for its staff, but it averages three stars due to two main issues - the parking fee of at least $5 for the first hour seems excessive for patients and visitors alike, and the hospital room food was consistently cold and unappetizing regardless of the dish ordered. Fortunately, Methodist Hospital is a 45-minute drive from our home, and our preferred choice, Maple Grove Hospital, is significantly closer. Maple Grove Hospital stands out as an exceptional healthcare provider with outstanding staff, palatable food, and complimentary parking, making it our go-to choice for the best hospital experience.
