Really nice assisted living campus. Has all levels of fair under one roof. Country store, restaurant, different levels of care from independent to memory care.

My grandmother has lived in the Villa for a couple of years and was at the Waterford a few years before that. Before that she was in the rehab center. She really loved the Waterford. She was able to have her dog there and an apartment on the main level. She loved the regular meals and staff at Drakes. But then her health declined and she needed to add services. The Waterford is not designed for people who need more and more immediate services as their hallways are long and residents spread apart. Aides aren’t able to get to people as quickly because of this. It was recommended, in a very nice way, that because of those limitations, she should move to the Villa. We moved her over there and added more services. A big complaint is that the meals at the Villa are not very healthy and seem like it is mainly the same thing (I’m thinking of the breakfasts) with a little bit of variation. Most of the staff is really great. There were a couple that were downright rude and disrespectful but they are gone now. The biggest challenge is when there is turn over, you have to train in people all over again. One aide put my grandmother’s Depends on backwards the other day and didn’t investigate when she complained it didn’t feel right. But overall I think my grandmother has a pretty good team that communicate with me when needed. This is a for profit facility so there are a lot of charges. Be sure to ask about packages like for laundry. If you can’t go pick up a package from the delivery area, it will cost $6 for someone to bring it to you. Having the chapel on sight is wonderful. Plus having access to the rehab center for physical or occupational therapy is so helpful.

Our step-father has been a resident in the independent living section. Lots of activities for residents. Many plans of care to choose from that are a bit confusing and expensive, but comparable to other places. Amazing capacity to switch levels of care as needed. Drakes is a good restaurant and there is a full pharmacy. The common laundry room needs to be updated. We have been very happy with the place. PS you get a discount at Americinn if you say you are visiting Country Manor!

I had heard so many good things about Country Manor but when my mom went into the rehab section with a broken hip and Alzheimer's we were not happy at all. We cried a lot about the care she received, don't get me wrong there were good staff there too. The communication was horrible, within 5 weeks she had pressure sore on her heel, and bottom, which we weren't updated on. I as a nurse had to ask to look at her bottom and before looking they then decided to tell me about it. One day my sister was there and they got her up at 5:20 for dinner, didn't change her prior to getting her up. I was there later in the day and asked them to put her back in bed because she looked so uncomfortable. That was at 8:30, and she was soaked through to the seat of her chair. My mom is not able to verbalize and we found almost a month later that they sent her to an appt by herself, the only way we knew is because we were wondering what a bill was that we had recieved. They then told us. Breaks my heart knowing my mom was there by herself and the poor staff at the clinic probably weren't too happy either that she was alone. There is a laundry list. Now we have her at Landings of Sauk Rapids and have had nothing but amazing care. We called the DON, Jody Rudolph, at Country Manor but have not heard back from her at all, or maybe even that Becky Freirick could have called if Jody didn't want to, but obviously they must care more about trying to dress to impress at the Christmas party then to actually take care of concerns about residents. I just pray that no other family has to go through what we went through.

My Mother was Admitted from St Cloud Hospital, Room 531 rapid rehab, She had been previously at Talahi. I need not say more. I would like your staff, including Nicole RN supervisor and Social Worker to know how much we appreciate their professional yet caring and compassionate service. This is the best I've ever seen in this setting. I am a 35 year veteranof nursing and the staff at Country Manor are exceptional.
