I cannot believe how uncaring and rude this organization is. They are supposed to be an organization that helps people. When you call them, they are absolutely rude, condescending, and nasty on the phone. They visit a few times, decide that the person is good to go and refuse to give them more care when needed. It is an absolutely awful organization and if you can get nursing care from somewhere else definitely do so.

Yesterday we had a terrible experience with one of their visiting nurses. My husband had to have his wound dressing changed in the garage due to her “cat allergy”. She came to our house and was completely combative asking invasive questions and even demanding a response. She made us feel uncomfortable in our own house. He is recovering from open heart surgery and is supposed to be resting. He had to call and request a new nurse which is pending approval. We have never had such a terrible experience before with an at home nurse.

We have used the services off and on for multiple family members for years. They used to be amazing, however this time the experience has been horrendous! One person was extremely rude, boarderline nasty, abelist, and inappropriate. Then they decided to withhold care without telling us. After I called twice to find out why the therapist didn't show up as scheduled, I was told that they couldn't help us because our home isn't large enough to practice walking long distances or stairs inside. We have never had this problem before because in the past the therapists would take the family members outside because the biggest need is practicing getting in and out of vehicles and up and down the steps to the deck so they can get to appointments. If they changed their policy about what they are willing to help with, they should have informed us. This time around our experience with Atlantic Visiting Nurses has been very unprofessional and disappointing!

I was extremely fortunate to have Candace as my physical therapist! She is knowledgeable and patient and has a heart of gold. Her kindness and empathy for my pain and physical limitations was very much appreciated. She’s awesome!

I can’t say enough good things about the hospice service. My father is currently under their care. Previously, my mother, now deceased, was under the care of a different hospice group and the difference between the two is incredible. I received very little support from the previous group. But Atlantic Visiting Nurse Hospice offers a great deal of support, compassion and care for me and my father. Everyone from the office staff to the home health aides (Hazel is amazing!!!) is responsive, and any needs are quickly addressed, often before I realize I need them. I am truly grateful for their presence in this very difficult time. My father passed away 3 days ago and the quality of care and support in the final week of his life was truly wonderful. His condition declined rapidly but the nurses, aides, social workers and office staff were so very helpful. Thanks to them, he did not suffer. The care team was responsive and helped me to manage a very difficult situation. They should be commended for their compassion and support.
