Spectacular. I'm aware of the ratings that are on here but our experience with VHS working with my now late Mother-in-Law was top notch. Staff arrived or phoned exactly on schedule with no issues. They treated my MIL with respect and compassion as Pancreatic Cancer slowly took her and some even attended the funeral. They did what was required and much more. Massive respect.

The people that cared for my mother from VHS of NJ were outstanding. She was discharged out of St. Joseph’s Wayne and transferred into hospice care at her home where all of her medical equipment was already setup. From there we had an intake assessment with Lauren who patiently explained the different people and meds we should see over the next few days. The next day our regular nurse Amy and our care coordinator Katie came and explained once again all of the things that would be taking place over the next few days/weeks. Our aide Tatiana was the sweetest woman and so caring and gentle with my mom. Amy, Katie and Tatiana were the best team. They cared so much and put my mom’s needs and pain management before anything else. I cannot recommend their services enough. I see many negative comments from the past but I’ll tell you from recent firsthand experience our care team was excellent.

I have nothing but wonderful things to say about my mom's visiting nurse (Margaret) and her visiting physical therapist (Anita). Sherry, her social worker I only met with one time, but she was extremely helpful and informative, and answered any questions I had. From the moment they first made their respective visits, they made me (and more importantly, my mother) feel very comfortable. They made small talk with my mother, and got to know her and were extremely patient with her. As the weeks went on, both Margaret and Anita have been so helpful in the healing of my mother. Her mental and physical strength have improved a lot since their initial visits. They are both funny, very knowledgeable in their fields, and extremely personable, and answered any questions or concerns we had in regard to my mom's health. I hope my mother won't need them again, but if she does, I'll definitely reach out to Visiting Health Services!

I was very disappointed with this hospice, they do not even deserve 1 star. Dad was in Hackensack Hospital and discharged to this Hospice. I wish I had more time to research. I was the health care proxy and live 1 1/2 hours away. My dad lived with my sister and mom. I asked the nurse to make sure she called me after each visit. She did this for the first few visits then I did not hear from her for the last 3 weeks of dad's life. Things were very confusing. My sister was told they would provide Thick-It, then we were told no, then yes. They would not provide wipes, we had to purchase them. When dad did die, it took them 45 minutes to come to the home and I still did not get a phone call from them. I would never use this company again and could not recommend them to anyone! So sorry dad.

My dad was referred to VHS Hospice by Hackensack Med. My experience was horrible. I am an RN thank God. Services were extremely delayed with no follow up. Did not receive comfort box for 2 days. Nurse did not get back to me until the next day regarding increasing my dad's morphine. Supplies arrived after my dad passed. I professionally do not recommend using this company. I had no choice to pick a star for rating. I would have picked none.
