Horrible Home PT & Nurse Services. They do not schedule nurses in advance, they just show up whenever is convenient for them. As for PT, the therapists always come late. They sit on their laptops most of the time and maybe do 10-15 minutes of actual PT. The last one that was assigned to my mother discharged her without leaving any discharge paperwork, and now we can’t get new PT from another agency. Truly poor service. Don’t use them.

Most home care agencies are notoriously bad but this one is in first place of the worst care I’ve ever encountered. There is a LPN Roseanne who should just leave the licensed practical nursing field completely, she is horrendous. Majority of the nurses run in an out within 15 minutes, the supervisors or case managers never answer the phone or return calls, they do not advocate for needed services. Now that my mom has stopped receiving care from this agency she is finally recovering. If you are using these services and noticing your family member declining please advocate and find another agency. Health care is a business and this agency should be held accountable, they are billing up elderly people’s insurance and providing 10 minutes of rushed care.

Update 4/4/25: No improvement. I had to call several times today; no show or call from nurse. No nurse was scheduled. They had to find a nurse to come today and take care of my mother. Worse service ever received. Still waiting for a visiting nurse. Several phones call made to both Beth and Emily. Told from both that nurse was scheduled and would call me. Still waiting for call, no nurse is scheduled several days later. Mom visited the Wound Center at St. Catherine's of Siena in Smithtown. A message was left the doctor who arranged for this service. He has not returned call. The nurse is supposed to come and change wound bandages. Left yet another message for Beth and a voicemail to Emily.

If I could give them 0 stars I would. After being in the hospital with severe postpartum preeclampsia, my doctor put in for me to have visits with Catholic Home Care. Before I was discharged from the hospital, Catholic Home Care reached out to me to let me know that my services would fully be covered. Because of this, I was quite shocked to receive a bill for $1,125. After spending many hours on the phone with both Catholic Health and my insurance company, the Catholic Health employee admitted to my insurance company that they told me 40 visits would be covered. Unfortunately, it was discovered that the person who ran my policy did it incorrectly (I would have received 40 visits, except since this was related to maternity, I only receive 1). In spite of this, they refuse to take any responsibility, and are charging me $375 per visit for someone to take my blood pressure - something I never would have agreed to! When I asked about a self-pay option, they told me this was not available since my insurance covered 1 of the visits. They insist the best they can do is take 20 percent off if I pay the bill immediately. This would still leave me with a $900 bill for somebody checking my blood pressure 3 times. After speaking with several employees and filing an appeal, all of which proved fruitless, I spoke to the supervisor. She made sure to tell me that when the employee ran my insurance and told me "great news- your home care is fully covered", that does not actually mean that the visits are fully covered...makes a lot of sense. My insurance plan is no deducible and 0% coinsurance for in-network, so this makes no sense to me how I could think anything other than it being fully covered. Ultimately, I feel incredibly taken advantage of in one of the most difficult times of my life. I was in the hospital for something that literally could have killed me and left my child without a mother. Yet, these people, even after admitting that they told me it was fully covered, won't own up to their error in running the insurance incorrectly. I even offered to split the difference, which they would not do. While I love my doctor and thought I received excellent care in this hospital, I am considering finding a new doctor for my next pregnancy, as this situation has left such a poor taste in my mouth.

After having a full knee replacement. Patrick Jewel was assigned to my care. He was pleasant and accommodated the times which worked best for myself and my family. Each visit I was greeted with a smile and a truly concerned manner. Not only was he attentive to my medical needs; he was concerned on my mental well-being too. The simple movements to regain range of motion were shown and encouragement give each visit to push just a smidgen more were with care and laughter. The experience was pleasant and productive. Patrick is truly a "jewel".
