My husband was recieving physical therapy and nursing services. The physical therapists were suppose to make physical therapy appointments twice a week which didn't always happen. The physical therapist would call to make an appointment the evening before usually quite late meaning after 9 pm which honestly didnt bother me because I am up late, but I did think it was odd. Most of the time they would call 10 pm or later. I learned very quickly it was around their schedule not mine. Each physical therapy appointment was suppose to be an hour or 45 minutes long and after reading this you will understand why I didn't know how long his appointments were suppose to be. If we couldn't agree on the therapist's specific 2 hour time frame then he either wouldn't recieve therapy twice for that week or they would pick another time including day. I had one therapist demand what other plans he had that day he couldn't attend her specific 2 hour time frame which was honestly none of her business. However, he did have a doctor's appointment and only upon telling her this did she loose the attitude. I had a very open door policy because I know they drove long distances and traffic in my area can be very unpredictable. I was not concerned if they were on time because on most days we were home all day. I would let them know this up front before they came. Another therapist told me she would be here on Christmas Eve which I was shocked they would work on a holiday and I did let her know I didn't expect that. However, she told me this was expected of them. She didn't show on Chistmas Eve, but did call me Christmas morning and when I returned her call several times 10 minutes later she didn't answer. Every single therapy appointment my husband had they would take his vitals and give him a pamphlet showing the exercises, but never actually did the exercises with him. They were never here longer than 10 minutes a visit. Once I learned the were they were suppose to actually do therapy. I told The next therapist about my concerns the next 3 appointments he had with that specific therapist he actual had physical therapy. Any other therapist in between that physical therapist did not do anything, but take his vitals and hand him a pamphlet. Now at this point my husband was really fustrated. I had spoken to a supervisor about the non physical therapy my husband was recieving. His only answer was to not have the first therapist come to my home anymore. Then he quickly realized she hadn't been here anyway because she was on vacation. After that and nothing changed my husband realized from an insurance statement not only are they charging for the full amount of time that during a holiday week the insurance paid for 2 appointments when he recieved one. After speaking to a therapist about our concerns we asked to speak to someone higher than a supervisor. The very next day they reevaluated him and said he no longer needed physical therapy. It must have including nursing even though we were not told that because the nursing ended too. Now I will leave you to draw your own conclusion, but after we said we were going to inform the insurance company of all the non therapy visits he was dropped. Also, they never offered to make up for any of the time they were paid for during the physical therapy appointments. The didn't realize I had cameras in my living room to monitor my husband at night. NOW THE RN's were completely different. They were wonderful. Not only did they give him great care they had some way of not only contacting his doctors, but could get things taken care of so quickly. The nurses would move heaven and earth motivating his doctor's offices to getting him earlier appointments when they felt it was necessary. Also, they made sure health concerns were address properly. He had one particular nurse help him him so much much I called their offices to sing praises and ask how I could send her flowers. Unfortunately, the couldn't allow the flowers. The nursing services were just exceptional nothing like the physical therapy.
