No way would I recommend this place to anyone especially if you’re family from out of state. I’m in South Jersey & my 85yo dad is in Waynesville. The last 6-12 mths he’s been dealing with blood in his urine. The drs he saw would prescribe antibiotics & it would help a week or two. About a month or so ago it got bad and he called the ambulance & was taken to Haywood Regional Medical Center. Finally a biopsy was done & it showed bladder cancer. He was there maybe 5 days & when released I was informed they were recommending services from Haywood County Home Care Services. My dad didn’t really want them but I made the mistake & talked him into it. They all seemed nice & I was appreciative of keeping me updated until they brought up his “severe” mental decline. I have talked to my dad every night since my mom died in 12/2020 & get down at least 1-2x/yr. Besides not remembering if he went for groceries that day or the day before or some old childhood memory his memory is what you’d expect from an 85yo. All was good until he called to cancel the services. He felt the PT exercises weren’t needed & he felt like a toddler with the questions they asked. He just felt he was taking services away from someone who needed them more. Then I get a call saying since my dad canceled services & was in need of full time care I got a veiled threat they were calling APS. This is coming from someone who met my dad once & 2nd hand info. They wouldn’t take my word it wasn’t like they were making it & when asked they admitted they hadn’t even spoken to his doctor of 20+ yrs that he sees every 6 mths. I know my dad will need to be with/near me in the future. At this point he doesn’t want to return to Jersey & I’m going thru chemo for gallbladder cancer & can’t p/u & move due to custody issues however we are in the beginning of making plans. I called my dad after that call and he contacted them. Told them NEVER to contact him again & canceled his urologist appointment to have his tumor removed. Now he’s going to have his doctor over in Asheville/Arden area refer him to a urologist. So what exactly was accomplished….my dad’s treatment is delayed. There were other incidents like him waiting outside for transit for over 1/2 hr that never came because they didn’t receive the order. The person at the drs office who let me know this said when she called HCHHS the person she spoke to was hateful her exact words. Of course when I brought this up they passed the buck. DON’T trust them especially if dealing out of state *Some names withheld to protect the GUILTY

This place cares nothing about the people of this county. Money is their top priority. Insurance is useless with them as they do not accept most insurances that people have.

Excellent care from the nursing staff. Also exceptional care from the physical therapist.

This is an incredible company. The new DON is wonderful, sincere, and hard-working and many of the other staff have been there for years. The new staff are all wonderful and excellent nurses and therapists. It's an incredible team. Every person I have met in the community that has been cared for (or had a loved one cared for) by the nurses and therapists of this company have nothing but good things to say about them. I highly recommend their services to anyone looking for a home health company in the Haywood County area.
