DO NOT USE OHIOHEALTH AT HOME-COMPASSUS HOSPICE FOR END OF LIFE CARE FOR A LOVED ONE! We "fired" Compassus Hospice-OhioHealth at Home yesterday evening for the care of my dad, after only 3 weeks. We were ready to do it day 3, but an angel of a nurse they had come out that day calmed us down. Unfortunately, that was short-lived. The lack of care, communication, compassion, and respect Compassus has shown our family is inexcusable, especially given that it's end of life care and is supposed to help and make it easier for the one on hospice and their caregivers/family! The office was awful. Getting a nurse out was impossible. Getting a hospital bed was difficult. Meds weren't ordered when they should have been. It's hard enough to care for a loved one on hospice, and the hospice company should not be making that care more difficult in the time of need. The only bright spot in our experience were the 2 Aides we had, the social workers, and the one nurse on day 3, other than that, the experience was less than ideal. The lack of care we received is disappointing and we highly DO NOT RECOMMEND OhioHealth at Home - Compassus Hospice to anyone at all. Official complaints are being made as well.
