I had a horrible experience with Ohioan’s home health care service. They also tried to over charge me.

Had two scheduled visits for at home care for a wound through a Dr office and the refused to come out on either of the days. Update! Called back later in the day to say they will be here at 8pm. Then again called to say after 8. Then again to say 1030. Then the nurse calls and says she doesn't have the needed supplies. For a business that is there to help people get well and stay alive, they are poorly organized and unprofessional. Instead we have to go to the emergency room to make sure we are okay.

Spoke with intake manager earlier today regarding appointment time screw-up last night. She apologized and promised to correct the problem. Tonight, no change. Supposed to be here at 6, scheduling has them coming out at 8. Absolutely no regard for the fact that they have been told repeatedly that I have to be up at 2 AM. The two nurses that have been here so far have been great, this is not their fault. Management, on the other hand, WORTHLESS. Will be seeking referrals for another service. Zero stars if that option had been available. Update: Nurse (who was supposed to be here at 8) calls at 8:10 and says she's on her way to the east side and will be coming to us afterwards, around 9. Receive a call at 9:05, "10 minutes out". It just gets better and better.

With the exception of one r n who saw me at home( but failed to treat my primary injury because she said she had no order for it) I have not been seen. They have called and then cancelled twice still claiming no order. Finally called today and said they would give me instructions over the phone on how to care for my wound, despite NEVER seeing the wound. They now claim to have found the order! I question if the people scheduled to see me were even registered nurses, but that is speculation on my part. I have received home nursing before at an exceptional level from other providers. This company deserves a zero score I have been treated twice today and my plan of care updated. Melissa and Theresa were excellent as was the phlebotomist. Thank you for following up

I unexpectedly needed short-term home health care after a hospitalization. Nurse Amanda was incredible, and not just because we share a first name. She was personable, friendly, professional, and experienced. Basically everything I could ask for in a nurse after a challenging health issue. Despite the necessity, I was nervous about having someone in my home due to COVID; she took all of the necessary precautions and I felt like not only was she protecting me, but she was appropriately protecting herself and the other patients she would see after me. I also had to use the emergency number twice, once at 3 am on a Sunday, and I received friendly and knowledgeable service. I hope I don't need home health again soon, but if I do, I will call Ohioans and will refer them to others.
