This place is garbage. I wouldn't trust them to take care of my dog. The home health care aide's never show up, they will literally leave your family member without aid for a week or two weeks at a time ! You will never have a regular schedule, it's like "Well, when we get someone there your one of the lucky ones !" They try to use the excuse "Have a back up plan, a family member to come help you". Well the whole point of their service is to provide the care someone needs, because some ppl don't have family to help them. And if you have a family member to help when they can, they won't pay your family member for the gas to travel back and forth or go grocery shopping for you. Because that's what the insurance pays them for. So to all who read this please remember that if you choose Unity 1 on Market St in Portsmouth expect the worst and hope for the best. And to beat it all, their own employees are giving them 5 star ratings. I thought it was the client or relative of a client that gave them the rate of quality care ? I've done some research and taken screenshots of all the employees that gave Unity 1 a 5 star rating, I lost count after 6 or 7 employees. But they are using employees, family and friends to stack the deck in their favor. It's just wrong and crooked. I wonder if they drug test the employees also ? I reported it to Google about the employees giving Unity 1 their own ratings.

Maybe we had bad aids or maybe caught them with staffing issues or something. We had issues with aids calling and canceling not sending replacements. We had issues with a particular aid and had to have a nurse come in to advocate for my mom that the care she was receiving was not up to par to say it nicely. My mother had to cancel several important medical appointments due to aids not showing up or on time. It was like the company just didnt know what to do wwith my mom who is pretty much total assistantance. They would send aid wothout basic knowledge of what they were getting into or training on how to do things correctly. The worst thing is many family members would complain about service and they made us feel like we were lying. It was a horrible situation for my motherit really made her feel hopeless

Unity Home Healthcare is amazing. They are so kind-hearted. The owner recently suported a local cause making cancer care bags for our local cancer centers.
