At some point in your lives, you made the decision to pursue this career, to be a part of Ohio Living. You chose a path that is not only demanding but often goes unrecognized. Yet, despite the challenges, you show up every day with hearts full of compassion and dedication. That alone speaks volumes about the kind of people you are. As many of you know, my mother was a writer, and though I’vedabbled in writing myself, words fail me now. What you’ve given us, what you continue to give, is beyond the reach of simple words or poetic phrases. There is no combination of sentences long enough or heartfelt enough to fully express my appreciation for everything you’ve done—and for what you do every single day. I know this work can be tough. Trust me, ask my aides and Hospice Nurse—they know just how hot my house gets! Yet, even in the most challenging moments, I ask that you remind yourselves of the extraordinary impact you have on the lives of the people you care for. You truly are angels to those who need you most. And in those moments of difficulty, remember why you came here in the first place. Your purpose shines brightly, even on the toughest days. Learning about Ohio Living’s hospice care, and having my hospice team by our side, has been an adventure and a gift.
